Leaving for a week

I am going on vacation soon and I might not bring my 3ds because I'd have to carry it on an airplane and they have annoying rules about electronics. (They opened my bag once because I had my ds in it lol) What is a good way to keep villagers I like from moving if I don't play for a while?

Remember the date that you don't play on.

Then when you get back and start your game, timetravel immediatly back to the day you left on.

Nothing changes.

When you get back from holidays, just TT back to the day that you last played and then keep TTing forward up until the present date. Nothing will have changed that way.

Here's two tricks you can use (copy-pasting them from an earlier post):

1. If you're planning to take a break from the game, stop someone from moving on the day you quit. You can then take a break for as long as you'd like without anyone moving out. If you start your game again after a long break, it's more or less guaranteed someone will be thinking of moving, so make sure to find that prisoner villager!

2. Write down the day on which you stopped playing. When you start your game up again, create and log in with a new character to see if anyone has moved. If not, you can start your file with your mayor. If yes, TT back to the day on which you last played and stop the villager from moving. After this, you can safely TT back to your current date and start playing normally again.

Just a tip: you don't even need to make a note of when you last played if you follow the above suggestions. You can check the date you last played the game by going into your Activity Log. I do this whenever I don't play for a few days.

Also, if you decide to take your 3DS just make sure to remove it from your bag (along with any other electronics) and put it on the tray next to your shoes / bag when it's being checked.

Ok, I thought it had something to do with tt, but I wasn't sure exactly what it was. I tt sometimes for villager trades and it seems like whenever I do, somebody asks to move. Even if I only tt a couple of days ahead, then back to fix the date.

I carried my game with me on the away trip. Then I didn't feel like playing it coming home, but I forgot the rule and left it in my bag. heh heh

I'm so glad I read this. I had no idea I could take a break. Huge relief. Losing villagers has always been my biggest stress.

Btw, I just went on a flight to Puerto Rico the other week & California a couple of months ago. You will be perfectly fine if you DO choose to bring your DS with you. The only electronics they would take out of your bag is a laptop, and that's for security reasons! You also would do that by yourself when you go through security, and then be able to keep it with you on the plane. My 2 sisters also brought along their DS's with them, no problems!

Just in case you decide to bring it along in case you'd want something to do on the plane

I really doubt any of your villagers will move out. I stopped playing for a few months and all of my villagers were still there when I came back. But yeah if you're really worried about it just TT back.

I would follow the suggestions given about TTing back to the date before you left and gradually going forward.

But as a note, I travel on airplanes rather frequently (international and within the states) and never had an issue with bringing my DS on board (which I usually bring). So if you want to bring it, I say do it! And if you're really worried about having a hard time, just take it out of your backpack/purse and put it through the security scanner separate

It's okay to carry electronics to an airplane. I keep my cellphone and 3DS with me all the time during my travels. My latest travel was 2 months ago when I flew from the U.S. to China and back.
You cannot use your electronics during landing and take off. However you can use all electronics when the plane is in flight.

Yeah I brought my laptop with me traveling across the US and all they did was make me put it in a separate bin while it got scanned. Other than that, I got to keep it with me the entire trip.
