Do they ever leave? Drago just won't go! When I tell him bye he says "I'm staying until we become friends!" It's really annoying! I want Punchy to leave too but I think he'll do the same thing!

if the villager pings to move and they change their mind, don't save! Just exit the game without saving and re-enter and get them to ping again. Everytime you do this, it "resets" their answers about moving. :~)

I find it also helps to "hesitate" when choosing a response. Go back and forth, stay on one for a bit, pretend to be indecisive until after a few seconds you click for them to go. I think the game knows how quickly you say yes, and punishes you for it if it feels the friendship isn't super high.
