Hello! So I've been talking about creating the lucid dreaming/artistic/whimsical theme for Lantern for a while now, but was knocking down the "Harmonious" challenge!
I hadn't updated since the Harvest because I was pulling all the items out of the unfinished rooms & building a couple of PWP...so after more than a month of a town strewn with mess, I've cleaned it up & finally pretty much completed the theme of Lantern Town!
It just needs a couple of things buffed out along the way, but it's open for dreaming & enjoyment!
It's different from the style of a lot of towns, and although it has many pretty places, it is also quite off-kilter, especially in the two main homes (Mitsuko & Ziggy)
Yes, there is some storytelling for the really observant going on, especially in Ziggy's house--but mostly an emotional & symbolic one.
Some things are thrown in for laughs, but if you "get it" there's something to be found for a small handful of people--the rest will just enjoy the weirdness I guess.
I spent a great deal of my free time building & creating Lantern, and I'd love people to see it again now it's been updated.
Things I already know are missing/not part of the theme:
-a couple of PWP that still haven't been suggested yet.
-the upstairs part of Mitsuko's house is just pure decadence & not part of the story.
-Lobo & Phoebe used to have a beautiful house (art & even gold furniture, ornate stuff) but they messed it up, but I do try & put effort in with my villagers. At least Freya's house is shaping up.
-I'm not wearing a fancy outfit this time. It's Winter & I'm just dressed warm & it felt right while making snowmams.
Maybe next update I'll wear a custom dress & be fancy. I'll also do an update at night for people who like the Lanterns & moon.
-The beach is covered in fossils that I intend to give to people to help with their collection. They also look pretty weird there, so it works for now.
The main thing I'd love to know is what you felt while visiting & what kind of atmosphere you feel Lantern has for you.
Constructive pointers are welcome, but insults are not. If it spoils the story for others, please PM me instead!
