Landscaping Ideas for Statue Fountain?

I have a fairly large area open for a public works project and have been eyeing the Statue Fountain. Does anyone have any screenshots/ideas for landscaping around this to really make it look like a feature?



I would like to do more than just surrounding it with hybrids. I am aiming for an overall quirky fairy-tale theme. Thank you!

You could put a bench near it, maybe also a streetlight if you have enough space and pwp projects left, dress it up with bushes and a tree?

I myself put it near the edge of the cliff, at the other side of the river from where I placed a bench. I put a few bushes down and in time I want to place golden roses around it. Sadly I placed it to close to the cliff for more dressing I must say I like this fountain though, I think I will someday place it better.

In short I think fountains make a good pwp for like a "square" area, where you put down a bench and light, maybe a drinking fountain, to make it like a "gathering spot." Not necesarrily a square, like an actual plaza, but more like an area where you group a few pwp`s together and dress it up to create like a on itself area in your town.

Good luck, please show how it turned out!

Just try out what in the end looks the best option for you, if you don`t like it, you can always demolish it and start over.

I've been considering something similar once I unlock it. I think I'd place a bench (metal or fairytale) in front of it, surround the statue with blue/gold roses, and try to fence the whole thing in with bushes/trees.

I think it'd make a nice secret-gardeny, old ruins-y little area, especially if it was facing a cliff or the river. The pose is based on the archetype of "the source":

"Art historians Frances Fowle and Richard Thomson suggest that there is a 'symbolic unity of woman and nature' in The Source, where the flowering plants and water serve as a background which Ingres fills with woman's 'secondary attributes'".

That quote is referencing Ingres's The Source (FYI, if you look it up, it is a nude), but its a fairly wide spread theme.

I just got the statue fountain too and I like the looks of it, it's just hard to think of a place to put it!

I just surrounded mine with white roses, it's between my bush lined plaza and a pond and I think it looks good .

I am trying to get my Uchi to ping for the Windmill after that goes in then I can grid out space for the fountain and bench.

Mine is by a pond and has bamboo around it on one side. Helps balance out the height and acts like a backdrop without totally blocking it.

mine's kind of boring but i'm going to replace it eventually and i like it enough for now. it's right at the front of my town in a square created by my paths and i'm waiting for flowers to take over the rest of the space

Ah cool, I found ceribell's post interesting, finding about the origins. I googled a bit and it seems like the sort of statue that one would put in a garden: pic, pic

I have four statue fountains in my town, and they're all sort of in the same area. The four of them are placed around a central fountain (the 3x3 fountain), and I have lots of bushes and flowers. My inspiration for creating this spot was palace gardens, and fittingly, it's in front of my mayor's castle.

I'd personally put flowers around it in as good a circle as you can, then make it like a roundabout using paths to kinda seal it off. Then you could add a bench or something so its like a miniature park

Oh! That is a really great concept. I don't have enough space to do anything on that level. I was very open with my townies and let them plant homes all over the place.
