I see posts on Tumblr of the villager conversations in New Leaf and admittedly I find New Horizons to be lacking. Poncho and Canberra have had the same conversation three times about squinting competitions and Raymond/ Hippeux have both discussed sending a movie crew to my island.

Meanwhile, in New Leaf, I see posts on tumblr years after the game came out with conversations and dialogue I've never seen before. I've never had a single repeating villager conversation in New Leaf. There were also times when my villagers in New Leaf would have me answer questions/ personality inventories. Or they might ask me what I think of things like my opinion on trains, or comic books.

I'm disheartened with how rushed New Horizons seems to be and all the ways it seems to be lacking in comparison to the older games. Even the Sable/ Mable backstory is disappointing.

Sable doesn't even talk to you after the event she just gives you fabric for clothing, I miss her comments about the spring breeze or changing into different clothing as the weather got warmer. What are your opinions on this? Do you find the dialogue lacking?

Sable stops giving you fabric eventually and actually opens up quite a bit. I actually like the dialogue in this game but it's only really good once you reach close to true friend status. It is extremely dry otherwise, and I hate getting constant one liners at the beginning of the conversation. I have to talk to Fang like 3 times to get him to say anything of real value, but I still like their dialogue once they're more of friends with you.

Wow, that's a miracle. I find New Leaf to have the most repetitive dialogue out of all the games in the series and many others have had that complaint as well. I just don't like that the villagers barely talk to you at first in New Horizons. GC and WW are definitely the best dialogue-wise so far!

Unfortunately, yes. I get a lot of the same lines of dialogue from villagers, and they're often just one-liners.

I think Rocco has told me that he forgot if he turned off the stove... five or six times now? My jock only ever talks about exercise, which isn't how I remember the jocks in New Leaf at all. I talk to the villagers to get the Nook Miles achievement, but I feel like I'm not missing out on much if I don't stop to say hello.

Yeah, it goes get very bland every now and then and it gets worse if you a) have more than one of a personality type or b) bunny day *shivers*

I usually end up talking to them 4 times in order to get anything interesting. I would like it if they added more dialogue or add another element where each villager’s astrological sign kinda come into play to make it more interesting since there’s only like 8 personalities.
