My L & R buttons have stopped working. Taking Animal Crossing screenshots literally takes about 10 minutes of intense button pushing xD
Are there any home fixes for this or am I going to have to bring it into a shop for repair? (Blowing air really hard into them used to work but not anymore D': )
Try scrubbing the grooves/joints around the L and R buttons with the bristles of a clean, DRY toothbrush. Scrub firmly, and make sure that bristles actually enter the gaps.
This is what a Nintendo customer service tech recommended to me when I called in about my unresponsive R button.
It worked for me - I only need to repeat the process every 3-ish weeks.
people say to either blow into the buttons/small space between button and ds with your mouth or use a pressurized air can. its worked for me but i had to blow pretty hard.
I have opened my 3DS some times and, let me tell you, to fix (or at least clean) the L/R buttons are the simplest ones comparing to the rest. You can look for a simply tutorial on google/youtube and will see it's a piece of cake.
Maybe they're just dirty or the connectors slightly moved from their position. I'd give it a try.
