I saw this last night... holy crap, one of the most amazing things I've seen in years. It's one thing to watch these guys on TV, but another thing entirely to see it live. There were some moments where I feared for the lives of the acrobats (when they were JUMP ROPING on the two rotating wheels without any net below them)... it was craaazy. Tickets were expensive, but it is SO worth seeing. Amazing stuff.

The music was REALLY good, too, I was impressed. Lots of Indian influences, straight-up jazz in some places, rock-tinged flamenco, etc....

Edit - Here are the rotating wheels I'm talking about, though the video doesn't show the jump roping:

Theres a show like that in the UK I think.
Only watched it once though.
On TV, or live?
TV.
It was called Cirque de something.
Oh, yeah, may have been them... I used to watch Cirque du Soleil shows on Bravo years ago, so it was great to finally see 'em live...

I want to go to a Cirque one day, they're always interesting.

From what I saw they seemed quite enjoyable to watch.

Oh, it was amazing. It's much better than a TV broadcast because there's actually the possibility of mistakes... and believe me, there were some close moments. The Wheel of Death was especially crazy, as the guy jump roping on top of it almost fell off at one point... he could have easily died if he fell.

They were on the Tonight Show a few weeks ago. Amazing, but creepy, stuff.
Creepy is right -- I always get a somewhat evil vibe from circuses, dunno why. Especially from clowns, they all come off as sinister sociopaths, haha.
