Kid Icarus: Uprising

I've just obtained the game, Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is remarkable seeing how rare it is to find it in stores today. But than again it was released in 2012, albeit I didn't have a DS at that time...

While I'm still figuring out the controls I'm curious to know if anyone else is playing this game and might want to meet and greet over WiFi sometime.

It was one of the first games I got for the 3DS and I absolutely love it; the story, the gameplay, the humour, the graphics, the music, just everything.

I still play it now, and I don't have the heart to trade it in despite not playing it as much as I used to.

This would be an awesome game night idea for the future. I beat the game last year a couple weeks after I got it, and love everything about it.

I'm a Viper Blade person. I've gotten 1st ranking multiplayer nearly permanently. Loooove ittttt.

I got it when Best Buy had it for 5 or 10 dollars off for Club Nintendo members. Still SUPER fun! I have about 91% completion and I STILL can't get the Viridi Claws! (Or something Viridi, I think it's the claws.)

Definitely an all time favourite game of mine. Once you get used to the controls (and laughing at the dialogue..) it's such a good game. Haven't actually completed it, but that's mostly because of all the other awesome 3DS games this year.
I second the game night idea. It's a good game for it.
Anyone else like using claws? My favourite two weapons are the Pandora and beam claws.

i dont play it anymore but im probably going start with it again. amazing game after getting used to the controls.

um for story mode i did use claws, i dont remember which ones tho
and for multiplayer, i used a skyscraper club with the invisible thing on. no one sees the attacks coming, and if im lucky i can wipe out two people who are fighting each other at once

I think my favorite weapon is the Aurum Bow, its shots are really fast and almost instant.

I love that game. The controls are a bit dodgy, but it's a truly great game!

I finished up the game at 9.0, finished all Treasure Hunts with Feathers only being used for Streetpass stuff.
I have my Weapon Gem set as this, it's mostly for show and for certain people two fangasm:
Gemini Orbitars Gem (Yellow)
Value: 242
Range: ******
Melee:
Modifiers: + 3 Paralysis
+2 Homing

My game is missing atm though, unfortunately, but at least I got my Streetpass set up.
Really enjoyed using Darkness Bow, Palutena Bow, Raptor Claws, Viridi Claws and of course Gemini Orbitars.

Sorry, I also lost a ton of my 3DS games back in March. I think my best weapon value-wise is a Laser Staff, at 304 Value! It has a ton of ranged attack and I think 2 stars in physical. I have other stronger weapons, that's just my highest value one.

My viper blade was 333 I believe.

My streetpass message was "Lv infinity epic super god+" for a while.

My highest valued weapon is a 334 Raptor Claws with no Melee, but the full HP boost and high defense makes it a strange doosy.
High valued weapons aren't good for multiplayer though...you get your butt handed two you, a large chunk of your Team's health bar goes down because of you. Not really something to brag about.

Hey, is it only me or does everyone struggle with the camera's angle during boss battles? It's pretty hard to keep running right while looking/shooting at the boss and at the same time dodging their incoming attacks. The Crawler mini-boss in chapter 1 was do-able, and so was Twinbellows. But when I tried to play Lord Gaol on intensity 4.0 I was unable to dodge any of his ranged attacks due to the chaotic camera movement.

Is there a setting or power that could help with this? Something like automatically putting the camera on the boss or a homing weapon?

I was able to use the camera fine personally. I've done half of the game at 9.0 ^^.

Gaol isn't a ..nevermind.
IIRC you can change how quickly the reticle moves in the options menu, and flicking around frequently with the stylus quickly and tapping to stop is a must.
General rule of thumb when it comes to Boss battles.
Stay level headed and don't run too much, watch for ques and patterns.

Spoiler: More tips for you.

All weapons have different DPS (Damage per second), homing, range, etc.
But there is such thing as a homing modifier.
Really the only way for you to really progress is through playing the game a lot and be willing to fuse weapons A TON since that's the main way of getting stronger weapons next to purchasing them.
When it comes two Single Player, have at least *** stars in Range or higher, and don't even worry too much about stars in Melee.
I suggest aiming for these modifiers, these are imo the absolute musts:
Health
Overall Defense / Shot Defense / Melee Defense
Recovery Effect

Some others that may help:
Speed / Running Speed
Homing
Shot Range
Freezing (Not as mandatory, but it would help when dealing with enemies in Land Battles, also Freezing doesn't work against Bosses..)
You probably won't ever get them all though, but just try and focus getting some of them if you ever dare on taking 9.0.

You should chose weapons you are content with, but some weapons I'd recommend:
Gaol Blade
First Blade
Darkness Bow
Saggitarius Bow
Violet Palm
Viridi Palm

Powers I suggest:
Pisces Heal (This does wonders with Recovery Effect.)
Effect Recovery, 2 or 3
Health Recovery, 3 or 4.
Super Armor / Aries Armor
Breif Invincibility, 2 or 3.
Crisis Recovery

I don't remember how I had them set up unfortunately, and I'm pretty sure not all of them even fit the whole grid..I know I relied on these powers the most if not the whole time.
You'll have to mess around with that yourself.
