Anyone gone to some lengths to keep your town theme?
Like my town is a zen fishing village. It's supposed to be sort of traditional so I don't decorate with TV's or computers or anything modern really unless I hide it behind other things.
Does anyone else do something like this?
It's silly I'm not sure why I do it. To fit the story in my head I suppose.

I don't think it's silly. You have a theme for your town and you're going to great lengths to make sure everything fits cohesively. :)

Experiment

Keep experimenting with your town themes until you find a perfect one that you love. Trust me, I have found over 50 town themes related to songs, game tunes, and K.K songs. I'll try post some of the K.K songs. I'm currently using K.K Song for my town tune XD.
If you want, I'll post the rhythm to the K.K town tunes. So far I have:
K.K Bossa
K.K D&B
Go K.K Rider!
K.K Adventure
K.K Soul
K.K Soulful
K.K Lucky (I think it's called Lucky K.K)
Steep Hill
Stale Cupcakes
Wandering
K.K Bubblegum
K.K House
K.K Disco
K.K Jazz
That's all for now. I'll update this if I add more.

Nothing wrong with taking pride in your work.
It's your own world that you get to design.
Have fun with it.

Gotta go.
Mathilda just planted 40 more flowers after I just dug out a thousand.
Must.. kill.. beautiful.. town.. ordinance. >..<

I think it's perfectly reasonable and I like that detail that you've added to the homes in your town. It's refreshing and gives more depth to your town, since there are quite a few zen themed towns out there. Over the years, i've made many attempts at themed towns (which is probably evident in the amount of threads i've been making recently about themed towns) but i've never been able to stick to them. It's probably because when it comes to some of my favourite PWPs like the illuminated ones, i'm a little too lenient with them and I find a way to make them fit into my town theme, so I end up straying away from my original vision.

I have a Kingdom Hearts theme for my town, but I only kind of follow that theme. I named my villagers after KH characters and have made some fun patterns to place outside.

However, the houses don't follow that theme at all. I prefer to just pick furniture I think looks cool instead. One of my houses is zen and my second house is more modern. I am starting a third one and I want it to be Legend of Zelda/ update furniture themed. It is all kind of random.

My favorite pwps actually are zen ones XD its actually easier for me having a theme town. It makes me be more creative because I have less to choose from. I have on illuminated pwp the arch but it leads to a kind of magic wood area so whatever. :)

Those are a lot of town time themes as well. I actually made one up myself I like. :) It used to be the tune from Star Ocean 2

I usually try to have something nautical/tropical in every room, or use blue lighting to give it an aquatic ambiance.

Actually is completely right to have things which go with your town theme. In my case, i just realize that Pink Villagers don't go with my town... And i don't even have a theme! Maybe because my town looks like a forest.
