Does anyone actually listen to her fortune? She always wants an item that isn't currently available in my town and although it says it works online, I can't see how it does. If you do use it, how well does it work?

The only fortunes I really notice are the tripping and money related fortunes. If you get a tripping fortune, wearing the correct clothes will prevent tripping. If you have a good money fortune, wearing the right clothes will increase the amount of bells you get from the money rock, and if you have a bad money fortune and wear the wrong clothes, you'll get fewer bells from the money rock.

Read that once you catalog Katrina might ask your to wear that item. Like if you catalog Gracie clothing and it's not orderable.
I play just before 5pm and check the lovely phone. If I don't have the item I order it thru the catalog and it arrives in a few minutes.
Mostly I just use the lovely phone but during the summer I started checking what type of fortune I had.
Good fortune on Items is a good one if your looking for Rare Bug or fish. All my side players caught the tarantula and scorpion with that fortune. Also caught some rare fish.
Someone online started writing down what the lovely phone and Katrina said. After a few months the poster had enough information so they didn't have to go to Katrina anymore. They just read the lovely phone and looked at the list. Some of the lovely phone stuff is easy to figure out without Katrina.

It does work but it doesn't make a massive change, so I don't really bother

ive never actually followed any of her advice, kind of a waste of time to me.
