So I've been tripping all day, and Katrina said my lucky items for avoiding disaster would be a cap. So now I'm wearing a paperboy cap, and I'm still tripping all the time. Does it not count?
I guess it doesn't count then. It's definitely annoying when she's not more specific about lucky items sometimes and what actually counts. An item that's shaped like a green cap is probably what she meant, if you have anything like that I would definitely try it.
The item that Katrina suggests will always be for sale in one of the shops on Main Street. If it's a cap you could just buy all of the hats the able sisters are selling and see which one solves your problem.

If it's a plaid dress and the only thing that works is the plaid cami dress.
The animal print one was a pain but found a list on gamefaqs. The cat dress and fluffy dress are animal print.
There is no animal print on either dress but one is a cat and the other is a bunny.
I keep the red stripe or gray stripe pants for H-striped bottoms.
The jinebi shorts or the jester pants of V-striped bottoms.
