Katie dropped her ticket and jumped off the train?!

My friend texted me with a Katie emergency and so I went to turn the game on so she could bring her over. When they went to get on the train (I didn't see any of this, she told me after it happened) Katie said she dropped her ticket and got back off the train -- the doors closed and she couldn't get back on and the train left without her. My friend arrived in my town like normal, as if Katie hadn't been with her at all. SO FREAKY.

I'm guessing this is because the same Katie has been in my town before -- or is this random? Has it happened to anyone else?

Katie won't show up in your town, but she will send your friend a letter with a gift that says something like "I bet you thought I got lost! I caught the next train and made it to town. Thanks for your help!" and your friend will still get the gift. It's something about Katie not visiting the same town too frequently or basically so you can't bounce her back and forth between a friend to collect her gifts.

That's what I thought. She thought she had got katie from her sister but I think katie had actually come from my town. In the future we'll keep better track of our katies -- I already almost had two katies once and barely remembered she had already come to town!

Luckily it doesn't have a negative affect for anyone, and most importantly, your friend still gets the gift! I got two Katie pics this way.

Whew, thanks!! She was really freaked out that something bad would happen to her for losing Katie!

I know this because my boyfriend and I have been infinitely bouncing her back and forth between our towns since the first time she showed up in my town. xD Now all she sends as a thank you, though, is her picture. -_- I didn't even get all of her other gifts! Aw man, are you serious? I only got like 2 gifts before I started getting her pic. Does this mean we're stuck with always getting her pic as the gift indefinitely?

Ok, that is weird....I wonder if you just need to get a "new" katie? I will avoid letting a katie come to my town for a few days then -- good to know!!
