Inspiration: The movie « The Boy and the Beast » (Bakemono no Ko), 2015

General informations

Hemisphere: Northern.

Airport colour: Green.

Theme: I would like an Asian island with a temple, a typical, traditional town but with technological parts, a bus stop, a magical forest where a strange creature lives, restaurants, onsen. The inspiration is clearly Japanese, but of course also Chinese because it is a country that fascinates me.

Native fruits: Pears.

Native flowers: Tulips.

Day 1

BeginningIsland.jpg

I decided to start Animal Crossing again at the start of the All Saints holidays. The name of my city (Jutengai) and the first name of my first character (Kohaku) were known. One objective in mind: a not too ugly map, and Rocket or Rory as the first villagers. It took me a little over an hour of resets to achieve this goal. Here I am on my island: Coach and Rocket are my first friends, and the adventure can begin! Tom Nook introduces himself to us and tells us about his project. I pitch my tent, install that of my two inhabitants. They are close to each other so they are not alone. I collect branches, I pick pears. I name my city, and everyone agrees.
A new day begins. I receive a new phone from Tom Nook and take part in his DIY workshop. I collected about twenty branches the day before by shaking the trees, so I can make lots of tools. I hunt my first insects, which I give to Tom Nook. He tells me about his friend, he invites him to our island.
I farmed the Nook Miles. I earned 15,000 to purchase tool upgrades, inventory expansion, and pay off my house. Some tasks were not easy to complete! On the small part of the map available to us the first day, shells do not appear often. I also won more than 130,000 bells, spent 20,000 thanks to balloons in particular. I did a lot of fishing, Blather's tent is surrounded by fish and bugs, I chopped wood, talked to my villagers, but Rocket was more busy fishing than listening to me unfortunately. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I think we're going to go hunting for villagers on my list of dreamies.

Day 1

So let’s start again! I reset my island because the map was not the one I really wanted and because I made a big mistake: accepting diy from other people. I said I’ll take my time to enjoy the game, and I haven’t. So restarting was necessary.

I reset maybe 25 times before coming to my actual island. I had two solutions: either the map was correct and I have one of my dreamies (Rocket or Rory, replaced by Snake), or the map was perfect and I don’t care much about the villagers. Several times, most of the time by the way I haven’t even finished the first part, seeing who my villagers was. I reset before that. Finally, I found a very nice map: south river layouts, a big peninsula, a big rock to place items, nice plaza position. Enough for me, let’s go. Airport colour is green, which is ok, villagers are Plucky and Axel. I don’t really like them, it’s not my lover Rocket or the funny rabbit Snake, but I accept.

As I did before, I spent time to shake trees to collect branches, I collected the three rocks and the three shells, pears to sell the day after. Everything is done to maximise my Nook Miles to pay off my tent and update to a nice house. Beginning was a bit difficult. I didn’t earn that many miles, but with time, because I have objectives to buy better tools, inventory update and a swimsuit, I eventually get them and more. I couldn’t sleep. During hours I farmed miles, get a bit of money, put fish and bugs in front of the future museum, talked to my villagers. I shoot balloons too. Maybe 15? I don’t remember. 26000 NM later (yes, already), I was ready to go to sleep, excited for my next day!

Day 2 part 1: the villagers hunting

I woke up early. This game keeps me from sleeping. So at 7am I was already playing. First, an announcement from Tom Nook screaming into his microphone. All right. I'm going to find him and his apprentice. He congratulates me on my house, gives me the price to pay. I meet the little raccoon. He tells me about this store he would like to open with his brother and asks me for help. I accept. I then go to see the terminal, it offers a nice item but I save it for later, depending on my missions, because sometimes, spending 5000 bells is complicated. I'm going to see Blather next. I give him five bugs and fish, he allows me to create my volting pole, my shovel. My residents help me with the shop, I receive a visit from someone who sells me NMT. I'm ready to leave. Three names in mind: Pekoe, Drago and Ruby. I'm going for it. Here is the complete list of villagers encountered:

The first islands, I search them thoroughly. I shake the palm trees, I hit the stones, I shake the trees to get a wasp and a piece of furniture, I look for the fossil and the bottle thrown into the sea. On the second island, I meet Alice. I put it on my dreamies list once, but deleted it because I didn't have enough space and because it didn't match my theme perfectly. But I look at her, I find her cute. I want her, so I invite her. I have to redo my list. I'm giving up on Tiansheng, deep down I didn't like his look, and I'm adding Alice to my list. Three normal village girls might be a lot, but they're way too cute.

On the fourth island, I'm lucky, very lucky, I find Draco. I also invite him with pleasure.

I thought the rest would be simple, but not at all. Ruby didn't show up in over 100 tickets. I spent three hours looking for her, in vain. But she showed the tip of her nose. What happiness! Here are some photos of these lovely encounters. I can't wait for these little ones to arrive on my island in a few days!

Day 2 part 2 : farming and visiting other players’ islands

I'm sorry, I didn't take a photo of my second part of the day. I chased the villagers until 1 p.m., and then I said to myself, after a nap because I definitely don't sleep enough because of this game, why not ask people on the discords, the forums if they could open the doors of their island for me? I followed my idea and posted messages everywhere. Volunteers made themselves known, and I took off on my first trips. I forgot to mention it, but during my 100 tickets spent on this cursed Ruby, I came across quite a few islands with cherries, which is not my basic fruit. I kept a few, but sold the rest to the twins. I think I must have been close to 500,000 bells after all that! Therefore, on the players' islands I was able to travel, buy, enjoy. I bought some fruit that I didn't have, some flowers, a pink balloon, umbrellas (panda, ghost, frog), some nice objects (TVs, food) and above all CLOTHES! I came across some incredible clothes! Including cyber shades which are truly incredible. My character is now well dressed although I'm still looking for the flashy animal costume in purple (I have the hat and shoes). I spent over 250,000 bells I think in one evening. I'm pretty happy.

After these adventures elsewhere (I deplore questionable behavior: a visitor from an island followed me everywhere asking for bells that I didn't have and grumbled when I said no "are you serious?"), I returned to my island, talked to Plucky and Axel a bit and completed three rows of challenges. I thus reached, with my exploits of the day, a total of more than 30,000 NM. I don't really know what to do with them, I'm thinking of saving them for when I have the plaza with the town hall, and possibly buying some hairstyles. I'm going to look at what they offer, because I admit, there are better than my current hairstyle (to be honest, regarding the physique of my character, I looked at the intro of the game and found one of the adorable characters).
I went to bed around midnight.

Day 3: How not to have fun

Yesterday was the least fun day at the start of the game. Because you have to build the bridge and give items to the different houses. Three for the interior, three for the exterior, three houses, that's 18 items to make. It's long, and it requires a lot of resources, a lot of wood. I visited a few mystery islands to find the requested wood, and I did all this in the evening. Before that, I admit, I took my old Switch again while waiting for Animal Crossing Lite to arrive tomorrow and I created an island, a trashy island which will only be used for transferring villagers. I don't care about the map, I just wanted Snake or Rocket as the first villagers. Snake eventually showed up, and the adventure began there too. The next day, today, I went to the mystery islands to find Pekoe (who was replaced by Kiki who I find so cute!) and I came across Bob by chance. For a colorful city, why not! Its colors are really pretty.

But back to Jutengai. I visited a few islands, bought a lot of clothes and items. I interacted with members who agreed to open their doors for me. It's super nice! I spoke to my two villagers, I fished a little, but I admit, I didn't play for hours and hours because I was busy with my second island to which I'm going time travel. The first days are very busy. I don't have much to say, actually, so I'll leave you with a few photos from this day.

As you can see, I opened the Nook store, a little late because I had completely forgotten about this event! Also, thanks to my visits to neighboring islands, my character is now well dressed, or so I think. Goodbye ugly t-shirt and awful shoes!
I forgot to say this, but I met Wisp. He gave me a nice floor because I asked for something expensive.

Day 4: How to get easy money... or not

Yesterday I started farming island villagers on my trash island. It's not that important, because it won't last, I'll remove it once all the villagers are sent to my other islands, but it doesn't matter. I quickly found Bob, who I added to my dreams of my future secondary island. Then I looked for Pekoe. Which I never found. I met Tia twice in a row, and she quickly replaced Alice who will also be sent to my second island whose theme will be fairycore, forestcore. I didn't take her, but she will join Jutengai for sure. I never came across Pekoe, instead, I couldn't resist Kiki's face which reminds me of my kitten Charly. The dreamies move according to my encounters!

I went to the grand opening of our museum. Besides, Draco arrived on my island, and I find him so cute! He had a lot to do with his boxes, so I left him alone. I gave my first two villagers their first gifts. Today, I didn't expand my house because I spend too much money on other players' islands. I'm addicted to furniture, to everything I can discover and that I don't know because I'm not very aware of the 2.0 update...

Museum.jpg

In the evening, my town was invaded by fish and bugs. The reason ? The twins' shop was closed and I couldn't sell them anything. What a desappointment! So I stored the dozens of insects and fish I caught wherever I could. I love catching fish, I even caught my first macropinna. Completely by chance, on a mystery island. I only have four or five insects left to catch this month, and barely any more fish! Since it's some people's last month, I'm going to have to get moving.

Day 5: Too lazy...

Actually, it's not really a question of being lazy or not, but I was really tired. First of all, in the morning, I wasn't there: I went to sign the papers for my FLE internship. Then I waited for my Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing console which arrived after an hour. I played a little, but in the time to launch the game, check the items in the Nook store, talk to Redd (first time I met him, with pleasure) and buy an item from him (I didn't didn't have the courage to play online with my second account to buy another genuine painting), check the items on the terminal (I bought some Sanrio items)...

Ruby finally arrived, and I took this little photo! What bothers me about her is that she's based on the moon rabbit from Chinese mythology, and there's nothing Asian about the exterior of her house. It's really a shame.

I sold all the insects and fish caught to the two brothers last night for a little over 80,000 bells and I tell myself that I'm going to stop catching moths because it doesn't make any money and concentrate on fish.

Really, yesterday I was exhausted. I went to bed at 9pm and took a 4 hour nap in the afternoon. On my two consoles (not the new one), I must have played for two hours. I'll catch up tomorrow (well today), October 26!
