Before I dropped off the face of the belltreeforums I decided to be crazy and reset my whole town but still keep all my items I gained from my other town (Thanks to whoever helped me out with that), but I never really played it after I restarted and now since I started playing Happy Home Designer I have this overwhelming need to start playing New leaf again but I dont know how to put myself up to that task, I mean I havent touched it in months and its probably all in shamble not going to lie.

So what im trying to say is how do you guys convince yourselves to play after starting over? Or how do you convince yourself to come back after a long hiatus from playing?

I had a long hiatus - 2 years. When I started I thought about 2 routes - extremely planned town, or just start it up, load a map, and see what happens.

Did you ever have a town idea that you never accomplished?

I am also playing HHD, I am thinking about my towns in a new way. What do I want to change about the exterior of my town?

Do you want to get to know new villagers?
Is HHD inspiring you to make new themes/rooms for your mayor/alt character houses?

I think HHD is going to be a break from the daily demands of New Leaf. Maybe you will find it the same way.

And welcome back to the forums!

I left New Leaf before because I was becoming dangerously addicted. I came back because I met someone who wanted to play with me and it encouraged me to complete the things I didn't finish in my file. I say you make some goals for yourself. What do you want to accomplish in New Leaf? Do you want to collect all badges? Have a full catalog? Have any dreamies to acquire? Do you have a type of town you want to create? Do you want to finish the encyclopedia? Finish the museum? These are just a few ideas you can work on.

What also encouraged me to stay was being on the forums. Knowing that I had this community that talked and traded about a game I was playing helped give me motivation.

Welcome back by the way!

I just came back to New Leaf after a long hiatus away from the game. I was in the middle of re-organizing my town and I had felt overwhelmed with everything. Thanks to Happy Homes, I feel more inspired than anything. I'm slowly completing my organizing and thinking about how I can change the exterior of my town more to make it flow nicely and make it look good.

My main town still gets played every day but my other towns gets played when I have time.
I use the stop a mover and than mark the day down. The next day I play my other extra town until I get a mover. Keep switching back and forth.

One of my town is finally decorated the way I want to. The mayor only need badges so I stopped playing on a day when Mr. Badge Guy would show up. When I feel like visiting the town I play on that day. Go in play with the villagers or try to complete badges.
Not worrying about a mover makes it relaxing to play.

Perfect time to work on your landscaping without worrying about a mover. Keep the game set on the same day until your done and than move on.

Thanks for the advice guys, im getting a few ideas in my head while reading these posts.
I've never really had goals I suppose. Just that I wanted a "perfect" town but I would always get too lazy to do that.

Maybe ill be able to change this time...

It's pretty hard at first, I bought a second town being almost finished with my first, you just have to come up with ideas and get psyched about it. I left my town to wither up and get weeds for months, but after I played for a while and made up a new plan, it was so fun to design it, it was great to do a fresh start, cause it's a great thing to do during your free time. But however.... You do have ac hhd, they may both occupy your time and since you got a new game, it's hard to work on your other, but I'm sure you'll find a way. New games always are more exciting.

Oh, and making themes in your town are cool- like royal theme, scary theme, beach theme, etc.
