Haha, my friend (who's a boy) reads twilight, but now he hates it because of the fanbase it has. Before you say "HAHAHAHAHA" he read when the book first came out, the movie made this annoying fanbase consisted of 75% pre-teens, tweebs, or teens.

I will say I've read all of the twilight series, and I really don't think they're they're good, but not because the books are over-hyped, and all the girls are in love with a fictitious character. I don't like it because Stephanie Meyer obviously didn't put enough time into the book, I think it could be a very good book and get the same sort of response if she would stop focusing on Edward and start focusing on a stable plot.
