lol that's on the regular 3DS. For some reason the ones that come with the 3DS XL don't extend. Not sure why they changed that. Probably cost. I liked the ones that extended. Pretty sure you can still buy those separately though.

This. I lost my origonal 3DS XL pen tho, so now I just use my white DSI pen, which I like alot better

Before I read this post, I tried to extend my stylus. LOL now I feel so silly.. T_T

Don't feel bad, when I had a regular 3ds I didn't realize for like a year either lol, when they're fully closed they don't look like they're meant to be stretched.. or at least it didn't to me.

I actually didn't realize it for a month that it was extendable. I was all, "what a small stylus..." and used it like that lol

I remember when I found out it extended, I thought I broke it for a second. Then my friend laughed at me for taking like two months to realize. I didn't use it often though! I can't stop messing with it now.

I did... I always used the stylus that came with the DS Lite because I couldn't stand how small the stylus was... Then one day I was chewing on it and it magically just extended and I didn't really understand.

I figured it out the day I got my 3DS.. and then broke the end off my stylus back in Jan. Now I'm using one that, at one point, had a pokeball with a shymin standing on it on the end of it.. but I ripped off the shaymin.. and the pokeball. Now its just a thick, green stick.
