Bells

Hello all! I'm Quin! Hope your all doing well this time of year! Just wondering what do suggest I first do on this game?

Catch bugs and fish, and collect fossils to donate to your museum and fill your encylcopedia.

Write to your villagers, and complete requests to build up your catalogue with gifts, and your friendship levels with the villagers.

Upgrade your rooms and buy and sell from the shops so that they upgrade and unlock other shops.

Unlock Public Works Projects when you have 100 Mayor points.

Landscape your town.

Go to the island and gather plants and fruit to use in your town. Aim for a perfect town. (The island also has exclusive fish, sea creatures, and bugs to catch.)

Do the island tours to gain medals to buy exclusive island items.

If you have the slingshot, start shooting down balloons.

Do the daily tasks for MEOW coupons to spend in Harvey's Camping Ground.

That should keep you busy. ^_^

Thank you for this! I don't really like how it works with the same real time zone.

Yeah, I'm in Australia and hate the AC winter because it doesn't snow where I am, it's horrid, and it's summer here. :)

Maybe have an idea in mind for a theme of your town, if you are into that? :)
That is usually what I try to think of first!

I don't really know where to begin on what to do.

Do whatever you want. That's what the game is about.

I mainly wanna rack up them bells because I might have a small project that includes a shop and other activity for users here to have some fun and win prizes in-game.

Any tips on how to gain bells.

Once the island is unlocked, just catch beetles any time after 7PM. The ones that land on the palm trees are all highly valuable, but easy to scare off. You get good at it quickly. If you fill all the screens with just random beetles, you'll gain 200,000 bells in one visit. If you are more selective and fill it with only higher valued beetles, you can gain 500,000 bells per visit.

You will unlock the island in only a few days of play, but you have to move into a house before Tortimer will visit. You can visit the island the following day after Tortimer visits you. Tortimer will be outside your house the day he visits and tell you about the island. The following day go to the docs and talk to Kapp'n. A trip to the island costs 1,000 bells.

Where do I sell these beetles, and how do I even get to buy the house? Seems like it's going to take a while any tips for starting out right at the begging?

Is AC: New leaf a different game?

Definitely hoard bells, you'll need every bit. The fastest ways to earn bells is 1. unlocking Tortimer island and 2. selling your perfect fruit in another town. To unlock Tortimer island you'll need to pay off your first debt of 39,800, and the next day, Isabelle will tell you that Tortimer wants to talk to you on the docks. Once you talk to him, Kapp'n will be there every day and you can visit Tortimer island for 1,000 bells. Once on the island, get rid of every bush, tree and flower in the middle and only leave the palm trees up. Come around 7pm (once the locust are gone) and you can catch rare beetles you can then sell at the Retail for lots of bells.

To get to 39,800 bells quickly, hit rocks with your shovel daily - digging three holes behind you to avoid recoil and collect the most bells, make sure to buy a net and shake trees for bees and beehives and dig up x marks for fossils and gyroids. Any extra fossil you can auction off at the Retail for 4xs the selling price minus one bell (max price any item can be auctioned for).

Turnips which you buy on sunday is also a great way to earn tons of bells. But you need luck and check every week what the turnip price is.it's like buy at a low price like 85 bells and sell high. I don't think there is still the turnip thread present in the forum?

There is a special charakter walking around sunday morning where you can buy turnips. You should check every day of the week the turnip price at retail :) can be profitable but it's risky.

They are adding support for the Southern Hemisphere with the next ACNL game.

To the op, I suggest just enjoying your game. Leveling things up like others suggest is fun but it?s also okay to just enjoy the ride. 🌳

You might want to check this video out to find out how to make bells. It is somewhat outdated because it came out in 2013 way before the welcome amiibo update but I'm pretty sure it'll work fine.

A lot of people seem to be giving lists but the game is what you make it so do whatever you'd like! If you want bells, go to the island once it's unlocked and catch the beetles on the tree ^^

Since you're probably done with all the tutorial stuff, you should get to know your town. Look around, find your perfect fruit, and say hi to your villagers. Get a feel for everything. Then get started on your approval rating. You can't start getting PWPs until you get this done and over with. After you've got your permit, ask Isabelle for tips on how to live in town. Do everything she says until she gives you your watering can.

Once you've got all of this done, start making bells. Sell fruits and collect your basic tools. This is where the fun begins. Start looking fossils, fish, and bugs. Don't get discouraged if it takes a while to start getting into the groove of things. :D
