I just picked whatever for my cycling town when I'm done cycling I'm gonna reset haha. For my main town, Macaroon, it took like twenty tries until Rover showed me the right map ;-;

He did say he'd let me have him, however, his wifi does not work very well and he can't get his gates to ever open.

You could use local wireless to visit each other, btw! You don't need good wifi for that
