yes, that is a new development. Doesn't seem too fair in an auction when an honest player may be spending their hard earned bells and then a person with power saves comes along with unlimited money and takes it all... boo for that =(

...which is against the rules unless you stated before the auction started that you have the right to change the buyout. Unless I'm totally misunderstanding.

Yes, I agree. It's just sad to be bidding against someone using power save AND having to pay waay over buyout. I'm not sure why I care. lol. =)

Well actually, that is cheating but unless you specifically exploit them you're not really doing anything wrong.
For example, if you're saving villagers in boxes and constantly selling them, or spawning in items and selling them on.
This person didn't specify if they were duping/spawning in their bells, so that's not cheating at all.
You could've worded it better :L Calling them a "dirty cheater" means nothing.
