January 2017 1/1 Challenge. Opinions?

Hiya peeps!

So I've been thinking about it, and I want to host the 2017 1/1 challenge. But I need other peoples opinion on it. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone interested would fill out this form for me to give me an idea on what to do this year.

For those of you who do not know, the 1/1 challenge is a yearly challenge for Animal Crossing. It requires the participant to restart their town on the 1st of January, or 1/1, and play on their town for the whole year without restarting, time travelling and hopefully build a community with other participants!

I greatly appreciate any responses. Feel free to ask me anything!

That sounds like a really cool idea to do with a group of people, especially if you talk about it regularly, and get to tease each other. There could be prizes, like who completes the fossils first, or who achieves the most complete encyclopaedia, or maybe who makes the most bells, or has the most PWPs, or a contest with who has the 'best' dream town at the end?

I don't think I'd participate, I've gotten more attached to my town and am excited about the new items and everything, but it does sound like a cool commitment!

I like your idea's! I've been considering doing small challenges such as having a certain amount of time to collect specific fruits or little contests like designing a room in your house.

Sounds fun! I'm running a thread too but with a theme. A lot of people responded to my thread saying that they liked the 1 year challenge aspect, but not the theme. So I think yours will benefit from being theme-less! It gives people more freedom.

I'm just worried that I might end up missing a huge chunk of days since I usually rotate my towns... None the less, this is something I've always wanted to do! I'll definitely check back in on this from time-to-time, I'll use the next few weeks to decide whether I want in or not, since I'd either need a new copy or to wipe one of my beloved towns. (I have one I actually kind of WANT to wipe... but I love my villagers and have worked hard to get my badges, so I'm not entirely sure yet... but holy crap is the layout godawful...) HNNNG. TO RESTART OR NOT, THIS IS THE QUESTION.

I will definitely be taking part! I've been wanting to reset my town for about a month now but I decided to wait until the new year so I can take part in one of these challenges.

I'd participate again...ish. I wasn't active on the forums during the spring / early summer months while the 2016 challenge was taking place. However, I never left my game and only had to restart a couple days ago because my game save had corrupted recently.

I've made a bit of progress in my new town now, though. I don't want to have to restart again in a couple weeks, but I will be around for this.
