If Valve was the only company making games, we wouldn't have very many games to play, lol.VALVE IS THE FUTURE
ALL HAIL VALVE

The economy in Japan is also terrible, and with a bad economy, people don't want to worry about purchasing an expensive handheld. You're right, cutting the price would help Nintendo. No, this isn't the reason. The current library may not be amazing, but it's far from the reason why the 3DS hasn't caught on yet. The biggest obstacle was the price. There are many people out there who are interested in getting a 3DS, but $250 was just too expensive for them. Trust me, I experience it all the time at work. I'll show someone my 3DS, they'll be very impressed by it and want to buy it, and then I tell them that it's $250 and they're like "lol, no".
This price cut is going to make the 3DS fly off shelves. I'm very excited. Animal Crossing 3DS is going to be booming because of it, too, no doubt.
The whole headache issue has been blown way out of proportion. It's mainly the media's fault for reporting these stories, and for many people that was the first they heard of the device, so now people automatically associate the 3DS, and glasses-free 3D in general, with headaches and potential vision problems. But in reality, you're very unlikely to experience headaches from playing the 3DS in the long run, and the "potential vision damage" is a joke. While it is still likely that your eyes may feel weird or you might get a slight headache or feel dizzy when you look at/play a 3DS for the first time ever, your eyes will adjust shortly, and you shouldn't have any future problems like that. If you are getting headaches from playing your 3DS, it's more likely that you're just getting a headache because you've been playing a game too long, not because of the 3D effect. Some of my friends heard about the headaches the 3DS gives you if 3D is on for a while...that turned them away.
Yeah, Nintendo definitely did the right thing. I'm still shocked that Nintendo is actually selling the 3DS for a loss. The economy in Japan is also terrible, and with a bad economy, people don't want to worry about purchasing an expensive handheld. Iwata is a good man. Usually other fat cats would just cut their employees pay, and leave their pay alone. It's great that he cut his pay more than his employees.
Yes, there are actually a few DSi-only games. I only know of three: Foto Showdown, Picture Perfect Hair Salon, and System Flaw. Nothing to see here, move along.DSi exclusive games? When? Where?
Also, I forgot what it's called, but I learned about it in a psychology course I took. It's when you hear something everywhere/convince yourself of something (mainly medically related) it happens. Say, someone keeps telling me I have a headache. Then someone else tells me I have one too. Contrary to my belief that I have no headache, everyone is telling me I have one. Naturally, I eventually start to develop a headache. This is the same case with the 3DS.

And that sounds similar to, if not a kind of, mass hysteria.
not poor kids, dumbass parent.I actually just had a recent experience related to this at work the other day. A woman came in wanting to buy two DSi XLs for her kids. After I brought her over to where we keep the DS systems, I told her about the 3DS price cut on August 12, which will make the 3DS the same price as the DSi XL. She instantly told me "I don't want to bother with that one". I then told her that it's a completely new system that plays new games, and it's also backwards compatible with DS games, and that it can do everything the DSi XL can do, plus a lot more. She continued to tune me out and said "I know, but I don't want it because of the vision problems". I told her that you can turn the 3D off and even restrict it with parental controls, and even offered to show her my 3DS, but she still refused and made it clear that she just wants the DSi XL. Poor kids.
Because it's a DSi with bigger screens? lolwhy would anyone want a dsi XL?
Because they're morons. But the real question is "Why would anyone want a DSi XL when they could have a 3DS instead?"
Actually, the DSi XL is more "pixely". It's blocky, but the 3DS is blurry.1) when you play a DS game on the 3DS it's pixely. and on the DSi XL it isn't
When you start the game, hold Start and Select. Problem Solved!1) when you play a DS game on the 3DS it's pixely. and on the DSi XL it isn't
2) DSi XL's are cheaper than a 3DS
