No, this isn't the reason. The current library may not be amazing, but it's far from the reason why the 3DS hasn't caught on yet. The biggest obstacle was the price. There are many people out there who are interested in getting a 3DS, but $250 was just too expensive for them. Trust me, I experience it all the time at work. I'll show someone my 3DS, they'll be very impressed by it and want to buy it, and then I tell them that it's $250 and they're like "lol, no".
Nintendo is far from dead. Yeah, they're taking a big loss, but Microsoft and Sony have both taken huge losses like this in the past, too, yet they're still kicking. They'll probably be able to recover their losses fairly quickly, especially if Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Kid Icarus: Uprising sell extremely well this holiday season.a gaming world without nintendo = a gaming world i don't want to live in.

microcock is all about Live, aside from a few games i can't be arsed to look into, playsation is a blu ray player that happens to play games, nintendo's the only one still kicking without more than an hackjob mp3 player in their system. that alone makes me sad.

No, it's more than just another DS. The DS Lite was just another DS. The DSi was just another DS, and the DSi XL. The 3DS is a brand new system. I know you and I and all of us here all know that, and I'm not trying to say that the 3DS isn't a "DS" in any sense, because it obviously is a continuation of the DS family. But a lot of people think that it's just a new DS with 3D. They're not aware that it's a completely new system with completely new games. And that's a problem.
