I've just spent 54€ on 4(!) regular amiibo cards

Lolly was the most expensive with 25€. Plus I think 1€ is a little more than $1.

Yep, the prices seem to range depending on how popular a villager is so they can cost up to 30€.

Ugh, I know. I checked basically every day until I found a seller selling all their regular amiibo cards for $5 and their special amiibo cards for $9.99. All of the cute and popular ones were gone except for Diana and Chief, so I figured I would never see her so low again and bought it. Still...ouch! Before the update I bought Marshal, Merengue, and Ankha for no more than $2 each. These new prices are ridiculous.

Most of the time, there aren't any lower offers. People are disgustingly greedy when they know you want something and will be willing to pay a high price for it. I can't really blame you for paying so much.

People on ebay and the like are so greedy. I luckily was able to trade a Curlos card for a Diana card on here and not have to pay the terrible price for it.

I remember when the cards first came out I spent a lot of money only for them to drastically go down - but with the welcome amiibo update I'm not surprised they've gone up again

But on the plus side at least now you can have your favorite villagers!

Technically, Amiibo cards are like $1 a piece. Nintendo isn't selling them on eBay, people who buy from Nintendo are.

I have to say I understand why people ask such prices if there are people willing to pay them. If you think they cost too much, you don't have to buy them. There are other ways of obtaining villagers. I just stick to adopting from other players.

There are benfits to the amiibo cards, though. If your villager moves out you can just bring them back again.

I bought 3 of them because I just want to plot them perfectly (they either already live in my town or I need to go through the 16 cycle to get them again).
