With the fact I can't play due to work and other responsibilities, I've decided not to pursue my dreamies any longer. I just recently lost Fuchsia due to the inability to play and at this point as long as I can keep Hans and Stitches, I will keep my town. But the urge to restart my town is so great right now. I no longer want to try and get my dreamies, there's just no point if I can't play when I'm busy will my full time job. =/

If you're really worried about losing villagers, I'd suggest picking up a Powersaves. You can use it to back up your save data and load it exactly as you had it at that moment any time you wish. Lose a favorite villager? Load up the backup and you've got them right back! I think you might be able to use it to hold multiple towns too, but I'm too afraid to test this now that I've got my current town really going.

I suggest keeping track of when you play with the Activity Log on the 3ds menu. It'll tell you exactly when you last played so I would time travel to that date and then slowly get back to today's date.

Playing during work breaks may also help. Bringing your own food works wonders and saves a lot of time rather than going somewhere to eat. Good luck!

a good trick is to deny a villager's request to move. then no one will move out until the next time you play, no matter how long it is!

I was going to suggest this to as Im doing this right now!
I was planning to take a break from ACNL for a while, but I didn't want to lose any more villagers after one of my dreamies left already. So I played everyday until a villager asked to move. When Agnes finally asked, I said no, and saved the game. Now I go back whenever I want to won't have to worry about losing anyone! (I was just lucky that it was a villager that I planned on keeping and not someone who I wanted to move out.)

Thank you all. <3 I'm sorry for coming off whiny and insensitive about dreamies. I've always wanted to have a town full of my favorite villagers but keeping them while working full time (and then some) can be very difficult. I will keep everyone's advice in mind. It's all very appreciated~ <3

no worries, it works if you accept the request too! this is because only one villager is able to move out while you're gone. :)

You might also consider not playing in "real time". I always record the last date and time I play in the notepad. Whenever work or life gets too hectic, the next time you pick up the game, you can always just go to the "next" day as oppose to when the real date is. That way, you get to control your town's time progress. It does mean your 3ds and town will not be in sync with real life, but that never bothered me. Losing a dreamie would piss me off more, lol! :)
