It's possible to prevent void move in?

Recently I did a entry about Pancetti moving in after I gave Rod for adoption and she took a space which was meant for another villager.

Considering that she wasn't not meant to join my town in the first place I figured that was a void move in since the mayor of her village visited my town to pick Rod.

It's possible to prevent void move ins?

I don't think it's possible for you to prevent it if you have the space for a villager other than hoping that they person has a clear void.

The only way to prevent it is to adopt another villager from someone if you suspect you might be getting a move-in from a void. That'll cancel out the voided villager.

Edit: But if that voided villager already plotted, there is nothing you can do. This trick only works if no one moved in yet, and you have a feeling you could get someone's void.

I'll make use of Pancetti should I try a Amiibo filled town in the future.
So, I won't be mean with her or just let her go to the void again.

But, hope I don't get more void move in after giving a villager for adoption.
