Hey guys! Ever since Gramms passed I haven't even touched my game... it's been really hard with too many memories attached. But I'm back, mostly playing in my Aritia town, and holy cow there's a lot of new stuff! What the heck did I miss? What are these amiibo cards? What do they do? The new camping ground? MEOW tokens? Goodness!
First, you have to get the new update. Then a campground will be in your town. It will be on the side of your cliff.
The campground is ran by a hippy dog named Harvey. He sells a couple of unorderable furniture pieces everyday. You can buy these with meow coupons. The coupons can be earned by doing little tasks. Isabell will explain them to you.
There will also be a random rv in your new camp. It could be Jingle, Pave, Blanca, Wendal, and lots of other special characters. They have items you can buy too. Some are unorderable and new, and some are things you might already have that can be ordered. They cost 3 meow coupons each, and you can only order 3 rv items per day from each character in your town. You have to wait until the next day to get them in your mail.
You also need to find wisp. I believe he won't show up until you've played at least two days. You walk around town and he'll show up as a lamp. Pick up the lamp and display at home, and Wisp will appear. You can scan amiibo cards through wisp. You'll need an amiibo card reader or the new 3ds that has one built into it.
There are 4 different series of card packs. There are 6 cards in each pack. You can get any random villager. When you scan these you get 5 meow coupons, and you get an option to have them move into your town or give you a present.
The welcome amiibo cards also come with 6 cards in each pack. They have new villagers and can move into your town, give you a present, or set up an rv in your camp site. Their rv will also have new furniture you can buy for 3 coupons each.
Then there's the figures. These are characters like Isabelle, Reese, , Cyrus, KK, and much more. They give you 5 meow coupons, a gift, or set up an rv with new furniture you can buy.
If you don't have the amiibos, you can always go to someone elses campsite and order furniture from amiibos they have scanned in, but they cost 5 coupons instead of 3. Sometimes players in retail have free rv visits, some people let you visit for a small fee. This is a great way to get special items without buying a bunch of amiibos.
Retail also has a lot of players selling rv items for tbt or in game bells.

I would also like to add that you can no longer use wifi without the new update. That means that if you don't get it, you won't be able to visit dream towns, go to club Tortimer, or visit other players towns. All of the dream towns have been erased and Luna will give you a new code when you update your dream address.
I know this is a ton of info, and I'm sure I didn't cover everything, but I hope this helps. It may sound like a lot, but it's really not so bad. I love the new update and I'm having so much fun decorating my homes with the new furniture.
