I restarted my town and had all my items and bells (I had someone hold them)
All my items except for my princess closet and bells are gone!

Wow that sucks , where in town did you leave them? If on the plaza did Redd or Katrina arrive in town and set up on the items? If so when you build the police station they should turn back up. Otherwise that's a really odd glitch .

did you restart or reset? Cause if you reset, then you would lose any items someone wasn't holding for you. But if you just saved and started your game over like normally that's really crummy.
