Item Despawning?

Just a quick question:
If you drop an item on the ground, will it ever despawn?

They will stay there until you pick them up again

I dont think items will despawn just for the reason of time, the only reasons that I could think of that would make items 'despawn' would be if a villager house/pwp was placed on top of them, or if they are in the event plaza and for example the fishing tourney tent was plonked on them

- if you just wanna place some junk to store or whatever the best place is probably in front of the train station
