I've been visiting the island now forever but always have the same old stuff, is everyone's island like this or do you get exciting things like the mermaid statue?

The mermaid statue comes from Gulliver.

I always get the same old stuff when I visit my personal island, whereas if I visit the international one, I get uncommon items such as the treasure chest and beach table.

The mermaid statue is a Gulliver item. Also, there are different exclusive items on the international item (Club Tortimer)...have you gone there?

I once saw the Treasure Chest in 8 days since I can go to the Island. I have yet to find a wetsuit <_< I've been waiting for it for days!

am i supposed to achieve something in the game to get the hammer (aside from getting enough medals)?

Usually what happens to me is I'll have one of the same items two days in a row, but everything else will be different. Earlier in the week I had the same black wetsuit for two days in a row, but in a different area. Other times I'll have a wetsuit for a bunch of days in a row in the same spot(usually on the far left), but it'll be a different colour.

Aaaargh I wish they had a wetsuit at my island. 8 days straight with none...
