When you change your island tune does it show up as the song playing in the background while you play? I changed mine thinking it would but I can only hear it when I talk to villagers or talk in the airport, perhaps I was mistaken or does it take time?

the BGM is the same for everyone i'm pretty sure - it's a default tune until you unlock hourly music which is then the same every day (possibly with some seasonal differences? idk yet)
the places you'll hear your town tune iirc are -
- talking to villagers/npcs
- hourly clock bell
- doorbell when you enter/exit a building
i feel like i'm forgetting something but....yeah it only shows up in a few places unfortunately u_u

yep!! i love hearing what other people's tunes are when i visit their towns and airports etc - funniest one i heard the other day was someone's gorgeous pink flowery town and their tune was.....smash mouth all star. caught me off-guard and it ruled
