Island Hopping question (:

What’s the most NMT you’ve spent in 1 ‘go’ of island hopping until you’ve given in and invited someone? (Curious)

i think i made it through about 50 before giving up ;-; it's exhausting. i mean i like the randomness of who i might get next, but when you're grinding for one particular villager it turns miserable pretty quick

Oh really! I’m at 15 now just feels tedious I’ve stopped hitting rocks etc I have quite an open list tbh but keep finding villagers I don’t want yet I know other people would love to have them (pietro, Freya, Bob, Apollo)

I've never done over 15 at a time. Mostly because I always have around 10 NMTs whenever I go island hopping (if I'm really hopeful I'll grind for a few more after those run out) but also because I feel like the more islands I visit without a villager that interests me the less patient I get.
So by the time that I'm on my 12th, 13th island I just check the villager and leave frustrated, so I don't even gather resources to make up for the effort, you know?

But I'm also not very picky when it comes to taking villagers from islands, like if I find someone moderatly popular I'll grab them to give/sell/trade with someone else

i think it was about 20 (which I thought was massive at the time because it was coming out of my own nook miles pocket) and I gave up and invited Robin. it literally took me about 5 days of having her to even notice she was a female snooty villager, not a smug. I don't even know how I managed that lol

but, on the bright side I somehow managed to find 2 hybrid islands in the process, so it kinda was a win anyway

Feeling that. I have a lot of NMT but don’t wanna waste them when I have 6 villagers I still want rid of

The most I did is 12 in one day and it was exhausting, but I think my problem was that I was trying to get the resources from the island too. I think the strategy is probably just to go, see who's there, and leave without worrying about resources. Although you might as well shake the tree for the furniture item and look for the DIY bottle because those are usually quicker!

Hmmm. Let me check my island journal. I recorded my only island-hopping/villager hunting adventure in there. Six has been my longest run so far. But, I just finished saving up 100 NMTs a few days ago and I'm getting ready to go on the hunt for Judy. So, that number will go up fast!

I did like 50 nmt trips last Saturday, which took all day because I like to at least hit all the rocks on every island.

I ended up finding Audie though so it ended well for me since she was one of the ones I wanted the most.

it was approaching 2am and i decided either i invite the villager on the last island (19th nmt) or leave it to fate and i found molly!

I hopped 68 islands before I ran out of tickets and ended up adopting a different villager from someone on here.
I would stop while on each island to find fossils, messages in a bottle and the item from the tree, but after gathering those I'd leave pretty quickly and go to the next island.

64, ended up taking dom, didn't like him and couldn't even find someone to give him to.... he was voided in the end
