Is your school closed today?

Nope. So disappointed. It's supposed be -40 ?C tomorrow morning.
That'll be fun. But, when in Canada... :P

school almost never closes here for weather. in my whole life it only closed twice ):

I am in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area.

I tuned in early today the local news channels. And I went to their websites. Pretty much the major counties of the Detroit market had all public and private schools closed. The colleges were closed. And it had an impact on a lot of businesses having closed.

Tomorrow will include closures as well.

A big problem here is the temperature is dangerous. At 7 p.m. ET, it's about 10 degrees below zero.

Also: We had reportedly between 6 and 16 inches of snow. (Depending on specific location.)

Watching WXYZ (ABC affililate), we're having record-setting cold temperatures ("nasty stuff"). Ann Arbor is 12 degrees below zero. Detroit is 10 degrees below zero. And the wind makes it worse: feeling like more than 30 below zero.

hhahaha school cancelled? There's no snow on the ground. We had over a foot and rain took it in an instant. God dangit new england.

My lovely Minnesotan alma mater has decided to go ahead with classes as usual even though the windchill is hitting -50. Classic :P

Yup. I'm in the GR area, it's horrible. We got well over 10 inches, here. And it's only piling on more tonight.

What really...? What school district do you go to...? And I thought my school was messed up...

Nope, praise the lord, my siblings still have to go tomorrow :D

If they close two more days, then they have to add more to the end of the school year.

Here in Florida, freezing point is considered "cold" to natives (In fact a ton of my classmates whine when it's only 15 C/60 F, lol). But I almost never hear of schools closing down, unless if it snowed, which would never happen anyway. (And if it did snow anywhere at all? ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE.)

Yesterday, it was around -1 to 4 C (30-40 F for us 'Muricans) where I live. And yes, people of the north, that's considered unbearably freezing down here. Don't judge.

My school always does this annoying thing where they will call everybody like 10 minutes before the buses should come pick us up saying there is a 2 hour delay. Then change their mind and say school is closed like another 10 minutes later -_- They ALWAYS do this. It's like they're thinking "Oh its below zero and icey out. I guess we HAVE to close school" Lol. I remember a few years ago we had about 4-6 inches of snow and no school for a week!. Of course I had no easter break to make up for it ;w;. And of course each time they would disturb my sleep first scheduling a delay before deciding to announce of a closing =_= smh.
