Is TT considered cheating ?

TT is an accessory to the gameplay; it's not cheating here & if the if you feel comfortable doing it, don't let anyone stop you!

I NEVER TT, but i do agree that tt is not cheating. Your villagers can also gossip about you being a 'time traveler' if you tt too many times. It's part of the game. To me, cheating is when you use 3rd party programs to do something that you naturally can't in the game. Well, everybody can tt if they want it to without ruining the system. Just as they've said, it's your own choice to use it or not.

Actually, Nintendo made this feature so if you missed something in that day, you can go back in time to get it done. For example, you overslept at Sunday & missed to buy Joan's turnip, then you tt back to before 12:00 PM so that you can buy turnips. But then, you can't go back to your real time until you've sold them all, since it will kill all your turnips. Too bad that people who use tt, usually abuse it to the extreme.

This is sarcasm right?

Yes xD
I was being just as ridiculous as people who say 'TT is cheating. I will only associate myself with non TTers because they play the right way' it's animal crossing there is no right way to play it.

If I could like a post...

I plan on cheat—er, TTing to cool events before i reset. Any tips and cool times to visit? n.n

I'm pretty sure TT is obvious cheating, but it's the kind of cheating that doesn't matter because Animal Crossing isn't competitive. It's "cheating the game" that the developers were aware of, and they kept it in the game. Like somebody else earlier said, it doesn't have to be a bug to be a cheat-- developers have put little cheats in their games that players can use since the beginning of game history. So rather than trying so hard to convince people that it isn't cheating, TTers should really just be saying "yeah, it is, but so what".

It's pointless to tell someone to change their mind into an obvious fallacy. It's not cheating. It's in the menu, its an out in the open option, doesn't require a code, doesn't require third party anything and it's been there since the Gamecube. The simple fact is that it is another mode of play. For those of us who really want to get into it, experience it all, not wait until the next day and limit our gameplay, its Nintendo's way of opening the door.

Dude, this is Nintendo we're talking about. They are always looking for new ways to hand you the game on a silver platter, in a manner of speaking. If you think that a way of cheating being part of the game makes it any less cheating the game, you're wrong. We're talking about the same company that gives you the "option" of letting the game play itself when it gets too hard ( in games like Donkey Kong and Mario ). I think that's obviously cheating, too, but it's definitely part of the game.

This is still a touchy subject... x.xxxx

No, it's no cheating. It's not entirely in the spirit of the game, but it's not cheating. I don't do it personally but if you want to you're free to play your game how you'd like.

That crap in Mario Galaxy I know at least, isn't cheating either. It's
A) A programmed game mechanic
B) You sacrificing getting a "Gold star" to continue
C) Without gain since you need gold stars

Just because you don't like something doesn't make it cheating. I sure hope someone with your standards considers resetting cheating too. Because "you don't like the cards (layout, villagers) you were dealt, let's stack the deck (town) through resetting."
Or lets continue being nitpicky. I don't like what they have at club Tortimer, I'm going to go and come back 1000 times until I find a Treasure Chest. That's not what they gave me, but I'm sure going to find one anyway.
Or "I wonder what bugs and fish I can catch in August, better look at a guide to find out before the month rolls out!" I hope you don't look at guides. That's illegitimately obtained information that you didn't receive through normal gameplay.
Seriously, NONE of this is cheating. It's playing the GAME the way you want to play.

Actually, those are all forms of cheating.

And I do all three of them. And I admit they're cheating. And I don't care.

That doesn't make something not cheating.
Games also allow literal cheatcodes.

Yes it does. When a game has cheat codes, they're labeled cheat codes.

Clearly, you do care to be fighting this so hard, otherwise you would accept the fact.

And that's the only way you'll admit that developers allow cheating, is if they literally slap the word "cheating" on it?

No, I care that people are trying to say that it's not cheating. I don't care if anybody knows that I'm cheating, because-- again-- it's cheating in a non-competitive game. People who TT should just admit that it's cheating and own up to it, instead of trying to call it something else entirely. And also, this is a forum, it's for discussing things. You don't have to care about something to be able to talk about it. Come on.

By some yes
I dont time travel, and never will as i think its against the point of waiting for each new day and the excitement etc, of each day being different
but im not against people who do

but im not against people who do
I'm not against people who do, either.

It's not bad, it's not wrong, it's not hurting anyone, I'm not saying people shouldn't do it, and I don't think less of anybody who does it-- I'm just saying, it is cheating. At the absolute worst, the only difference in my perception between people who TT and people who don't is that I'm more impressed by the achievements of somebody who didn't TT simply because they had more patience, that's all.

But i do get sick of TT's acting like every non TT gangs up on them and treats them differently, from what i've seen theres literally been more cases of TT's attacking Non TT's than the opposite, ive only seen a few cases of Non TT'S actively calling TT's cheaters etc
