What's wrong with making it a boy villager? I guess that making it look like a copy of your friend's character can be weird, especially if your friend doesn't know about it and you're not doing it as a joke, but having a character from a gender that is different from yours is not that unusual.

I do this too My mayor is more "me" so I dress and decorate her however I feel like at the moment (which actually ends up pretty masculine more often than not), but my second character is more like, well, a fictional character, so I feel better about dressing him up and decorating everything cutesy.

Either way, I don't really think it's weird, plenty of people have characters following a specific theme or personality, you just got that theme and personality from someone else who you'd like to have in your town. (I might've done the same for my boyfriend if I didn't already associate him with Digby, haha)

Omg, that's a really cute idea! I always feel bad when I play my second character and the villagers gossip about my mayor without knowing it's the same person, lol.
