Hm..... I've seen this glitch before. How many villagers do you have? The last person who had this glitch had 9 villagers, after she had a 10th moved in it fixed it. But it would only work whenever she had 10.

Time travel 2 days ahead, load the game, save and quit. Then tt 2 days backwards to the original date. Someone should ping to move.
