I've spending hours TT back and forth to get a certain villager to move, but so far without success. I really need to make room in my main town. Luckily it's not my 10th, but 9th villager.

Is there an easlier way to make this work?

One way, and this isn't proven to work, is to actually just beat them with the neat. Sometimes they will talk to you right after and say they will move. Another thing is to just outright ignore them. And if they come up to talk to you, deny doing anything they say. Villagers work on an algorithm based on how much you pay attention to them. I once went off the game for about three days and came back that a villager that I had not talked to in about two weeks had left. It's worth a shot, otherwise it's just a waiting game.

hes right with ignoring, bu do not beat them, they will stay longer!

I am starting to HATE Elmer SO MUCH!

I used my last trump card: the new save file method, but even THAT is letting me down! Introduced my new character to Elmer and ignored him for more than seven days(while TT'ing). But still I get other villagers who want to leave.

I don't know what else to do! I am at the point that I'm willing to HACK Elmer out of town!

this exact reason is why im unsure about starting the 16 villager cycle to get my freya back.
i work a lot and would only have 2-3 spaces of villagers to cycle from while keeping 7 of them.

imagine doing what your doing 16 times! agh

So I'm following this guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jIuEm8Bq9I

Creating a new character, introduced to Elmer and ignored him. Then I(NOT as the mayor character) talked to all the other villagers day by day for SEVEN days(TT'ing). And STILL the villagers I talk to the most want to move out first! Arrrrrgggh!

Elmer why must you troll me?!

There really is no easy way but what I did is I just went forward 4 days from the time a villager pinged me to move. Because you denied their request to move no one will move out during those 4 days. Then go around and talk to 1 or 2 villagers to see if someone is planning on moving. If you get a rumour saying you're a bell pincher or whatever else those kinds of rumours are, then no one is planning on moving. Go forward day by day until someone says that someone is thinking of moving. I ignored the villager and then talked to them once when I needed them to ping. If the villager who wants to move is a dreamie of yours or something, then tell them no and continue on 4 days forward until another villager wants to move.

It's a lengthy process, but it does eventually work. Good luck!

I recently gave Bubbles the royal boot after she said she was moving TWICE and then said she changed her mind (the third time she gave me notice is when she actually budged). I don't remember how long I had her for but IT WAS AWHILE and I hated it so bad.

I have been TTing forward a day, going in and walking around, and then going back a day, going in and walking around, rinse and repeat, and I finally managed to get pinged by her. I find that doing this days technically DO pass so you'll probably get pinged quite a bit depending on how long you've been going for. Once Bubbles pinged me and decided to go, I just kept going day by day until she went into boxes and left. Rejoiced a lot! :3

I had to talk to Bubbles sometimes throughout the time I had her but I eventually got rid of her by doing this. I CAN'T guarantee that this will work for you, but this would be 2 villagers now that I got out with this method I discovered, so I thought to mention it.

Also, have you maybe tried talking to him recently? He might not ping you if you haven't talked in awhile to him. I'm no expert, buuut... just thought to consider it. *shrugs*

As for the Ignoring Trick, tbh that never worked for me either, so... =/

---
Is Elmer just not pinging you or is NO ONE pinging you? Has anyone asked to move?

Nope! Hugh called me a bell hoarder. But Rosie still wanted to move :(
So there goes that theory.

The other villagers did ping me when they wanted to leave, that's why it's so frustrating!

About ignoring, in my cycle town it DID work. After introducing to Baabara and completely ignoring her, for a little over a week, she decided to move out. I did have to talk to her to make her ping, but that was after I've heard from another villager Baabara was planning to leave.

Dang, that really sucks =I And he hasn't pinged you ONCE? Not even where it was a ping and then he changed his mind? How long have you gone at it for? And have you tried maybe the gossip method where you find out from a different villager that someone's moving by talking to them?

Oh, well, alright then. Never worked for me, so. :p

Try the jellyfish trick you normally use for getting pwps-requests ;) There is a good chance that he wants to move out then!

what works for me: befriending them like crazy and when they ask for fruit : always give them a rotten piece / or send rotten fruit in a letter...

No ping from him, no gossip about him moving. EVER! He's totally behaving like a 10th villager, it's really annoying!

Is it because he is a Lazy villager?

When I befriended Chester, it took THREE months when he said that he was planning to move. Of course I stopped him, but that's how the lazy villagers work I suppose.

I don't think the personality has anything to do with how often they wanna move? =S Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Sorry if this is stupid but you sure there's not some kind of glitch in your game or something? That's just weird. =/ All of my villagers have pinged me at least once about moving, and with the method I was using several times at that, so I've never had a problem with one villager that wouldn't ping.

Sorry, man, I don't think I can help with that one. I guess just keep trying, or maybe let another move and then try again at Elmer (I do NOT know if that will fix your problem but I'm just trying to give SOME idea of something to try).

Wait a minute, now that I think about it, Jeremiah and Papi don't ping me often about moving, and they're both Lazy... but Zucker has pinged me a couple of times, too... hmm... is that a coincidence, the personality, or how they are on the friendship scale? >_>;

Just a suggestion, but maybe you should take a break from trying to TT the villager out, just for a couple of days.

I only suggest it because you seem frustrated, and that's really not an emotion that a peaceful game like ACNL should instil in anyone. Maybe try playing at a regular pace for a couple of days, try befriending the villager more (my closest villager friends are the most likely to move), and then go back to TTing when you feel calmer about everything.

It's easy to make TT mistakes when you're rushed and annoyed, and it would be a shame if something like that happened to you.

That's (to me) the most important part of cycling, plot resetting, or TTing - take breaks!

I'm just trying to be helpful, so feel free to ignore this if it puts you out. It's just my two cents.

Quick update: after two days, I finally got Elmer to ping for moving out.

Here is what I did: I created a new character, again, but this time I did the opposite of the guide. I only introduced myself to the villagers I wanted keep and only talked to Elmer for two days. On the third day he pinged me saying he is planning to leave.

Someone on another forum or this forum suggested this method and it proved successfull for me! I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but if it does, that's the way to do it!

*sigh* This ordeal took a lot out of me, mentally.

I'm glad that you managed to move your villager out in the end, without incident or accident. Congrats!

Sorry that you had so much stress throughout the process, though. My (unwanted) advice would be to take a break from villager cycling and just play for fun for a little while. Being tired and frustrated isn't fun or healthy.

ACNL can be fun, and it's nice to remember that sometimes.
