is there no backing out once tom nook gives you bridge plot?

i wanna ask to build a bridge, try to see if it looks good in the area but won’t plot it yet until i decided i like it. i just wanted to see if the type of bridge will look good where i wanted it. is that possible?

I could've sworn I've done it before, but my memory's terrible xD I dont see why you couldn't. I know I never tried it with moving house plots though because for some reason you're made to pay ahead of time

1. If you ask to build a bridge and select the bridge you'll get the bridge building kit in your pocket
2. If you find a spot. select that spot and then select, lets see how it looks, you get to see how that bridge will look in your desired area
3. As long as you *don't* then proceed to build it, i.e you still have the bridge building kit in your pockets and Lloid is not there with your in progress bridge, you can then go back to nook and choose not to build it, just talk about infrastructure.
4. You can then select another bridge and repeat until you are happy

i thought you could change your mind, like a different version of this in new leaf is you can go with isabelle to “imagine” the bridge, but go back if you change your mind.

You can go back to Tom nook and say quit building or something like that and he will ask you to return the kit

You can back out whenever, really. Mine was in progress just now, and I shut the building process down even with Lloid there and 14k in donations. Just takes a day for it to clear.

I think you can do it with housing plots too! I wanted to move Nook's Cranny, but after I already paid the 50k and got the plot I realized the spot I wanted was too close to a house and I'd have to move the house first..he took the plot back and gave me the 50k back, and I was able to get the housing plot with the 50k.

Yeah everything you can do with houses, bridges, inclines etc can be reverted before its placed by just chatting to him about it and saying nevermind basically. I've done it a couple times when I realised that I didn't actually need a bridge or didn't feel like moving a villagers home.
