Is there a way to check how many weeds spawned?

In NL, you could ask Leif to weed, and if you had none he'd tell you; if you still had one on the ground, he'd mention he didn't see "all that many". This was useful in finding out if I'd missed any weeds.

Normally, on my island, two weeds spawn per day. However, I only found one this morning, and I've swept my island multiple times to no avail. Is there any way I can find out if a second one spawned and is hiding, or am I in the dark about this and driving myself up a wall over a potentially non-existent weed?

Here's a guide on weed spawning. Essentially, if you have 30 or fewer weeds, you get two random spawns. If you have 31-149 weeds, you get one random spawn. This doesn't include weeds that spread from existing weeds, so if you have a bunch of weeds, especially tall ones, you can get more new ones per day. If you have 150 or more weeds, you get no new weeds at all (whether it's a random spawn or from spreading).

So unless you purposefully increased the number of weeds your island has recently, you still probably have two weeds spawning. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though. If I don't find a weed, I'll usually find it another day, especially once it's grown taller and starts spreading new weeds; then it gets easier to find.
