I just have some questions, and I can't find the right place to ask. (Let me know if you know where this should go! :) )

I'd heard that when villagers try to move out, it's never the villager that moved in latest, but today Gala (who I've had a week or so, definitely my newest in that town) pinged me and asked to leave. Was that information just an AC myth, or was I just completely wrong? It just made me nervous to think that a brand new dreamie could just up and leave so quickly. Which reminds me, what do you do to insure that your dream villagers stay put? I play just about everyday anyway, but I worry about missing a ping.

In my other town, I had eight villagers, so I went and asked Agnes to move, happily plot reset, hunky dory. She's in move in boxes right now. Then today, Renee is moving in (she'll be my tenth villager) and her plot has squashed my orchard. >:( Was she already going to move in from the void before I asked Agnes? Is Agnes technically the 10th?

Anyway, thanks for reading, and please shoo me in the right direction with my questions. :)

To answer your first question, it is not impossible that the last villager who moved in wants to move out, it's just extremely rare!
The way that the moveouts work apparently is that the happier the villagers are in the town, the higher the chance of them wanting to move out (ironically) to "explore other options", which is why you'll often find villagers who you adore and treat well always wanting to move out.

To ensure that your dream villagers stay put, I recommend this technique I've been using while cycling my town and trying to keep 8 of my dreamies in. Villagers will move out at the earliest 6 days after someone had pinged to move out(if you rejected them, I think it's different if you accept their moveout). So every 5th day, someone HAS to ping wanting to move out. On that day, I would definitely restart the town until I've run buy all villagers outside, because one of them should ping! If they don't, definitely check by spam talking to multiple villagers and seeing if rumors of someone moving out occurs. Once you find this target, they should be pinging to move out, but just make sure you're 100% certain that no one wants to move out before proceeding to the next day. You can always check before the 5th day of course, but that 5th day is your buffer zone and there is a chance that they'd want to move out on the 6th day or farther.

As for your last question, I don't have any experience with the void so hopefully someone can answer that! I'd like to know as well :p

Well, that makes sense about Gala, then. I guess I'll have to be careful about doting on the dream villagers. :)

I think I'll have to make take notes to make sure I don't miss a ping, or something.

One more question, I know that if you don't have a good enough friendship with a villager with a ping, they won't always leave; but if you tell a village it's okay if they move, can you change their mind before they go into boxes?

Yes. Basically you just keep talking to them in the days before they are in boxes and they will eventually mention x amount of days until the big move, and they will usually have second doubts and that is where you can tell them to stay.

Can't say exactly when your game picked up Renee, but she would still be your tenth since Agnes had her actual plot down first.

That's what I would have thought, but I was under the impression that the tenth villager could only be asked to move in.
