Is the 3DS XL a good system?

I'm just wondering, because my regular sized 3DS has pretty much worn out on me. The L and R buttons do not work whatsoever. I figured if I'm gonna get a new one, I may as well get a larger one. So I'm just asking before I get it, is it any good?

I don't think many of us use the 3D aspect.... but it easy to handle if you have big hands. my sister started with my XL but when I got her the basic 3Ds she was like OMG so much better

I have the 3ds xl in pink, and its amazing. Like most of you all, i dont use the 3d aspect. I personally like it much better than the regualar sized 3ds... The screen is much bigger, which is the main reason why i like the xl better. My only problem is that my volume slider thing is broken... Its not completely silent when i turn it all the way down. :)

Check it out in store before you commit. It's basically the exact same system as the 3ds but with bigger screens. The smaller one is obviously more portable. Some people say the speakers are softer on the xl.

Ultimately it depends on what you want. If you're in USA/Canada you should probably wait till next Friday to get it though (and rumour has it the xl will be $150 at some stores. Forgot which though). Black Friday is coming.

Also if you like Mario, there's a special edition coming out soon. The new Zelda edition is coming out too.

I have played AC on my sister's XL and I found that it hurt my eyes. (not using 3d) I have the lavender pink regular sized one and I love it!

AC is slightly more pixelated on the XL because the screens are larger, but if you don't mind that it shouldn't matter. I just like the portability of the normal one because I usually carry smaller purses. :P

I actually use the 3D like 80% of the time. I love the 3DS. I never got the DSi either, so it was obviously a big leap for me. But it was worth it.

I have a 3ds xl and the right button is already giving me problems. I have tried cleaning it and it is still not working right. But that is just my experience. I prefer the size of the xl and I love the larger screen.

I have an XL, and I rarely use the 3D feature. I typically only turn it on when a Pokemon is evolving, when trading, and when I can tell a cut scene is in 3D.

It is worth the upgrade. Size makes all the difference. I really enjoy playing my games on it more.

Never had a 3DS so I can't really compare the two. My cousin has a 3DS and the XL is really a lot bigger. They're not joking around when they say it's a 90% bigger screen... although I'm not sure if those numbers are true, the screen is certainly a LOT bigger.
The 3DS XL is fine. Of course with it's size the portability of it kinda goes down because it's so big, but it still doesn't bother me because it fits in one of my coats pockets with no problem. The coat has an interior pocket too, so you don't see the big 3DS XL bulge like you would if it was in your jeans/trousers.

I'd say make the change and get an XL, I really love mine, the big screen makes up for the size. c:

yeah the XL's pretty good, although mine's not really that durable. i dropped it once and already there was a ton of scratches and even the actual plastic chipped off a bit on the corner. and that was only dropping it once. my dsixl was really durable and could take that kind of stuff so that was just a bit of a concern for me. that's the only problem with mine, but overall though the screen's pretty nice and bigger. if you just avoid being a clumsy idiot like me then the XL is a really nice system.

I got a regular 3DS at launch and upgraded to an XL in March, and I definitely think that it was worth it. I love the bigger screen, and the stylus is in a much better place. Now when I look at my brother's regular 3DS, I just think that I could never go back to the smaller screens xD

I LOVE my 3dsxl!
I really dislike to normal 3ds, it's much smaller compared to the 3ds
The game resolution is also the same :)

I feel like I've pretty much been spoiled with the XL. I have the AC limited edition one and I love it. I love the big screen. My only problem is that it's a little heavy, especially when I play with one hand while I do something else on the computer.

I've since played with my DS Lite and even messed around with my boyfriend's regular 3DS, and I've just been spoiled with the nice big screen the XL has. So it's really just preference.
