Hi all!

So I recently acquired an extra copy of ACNL, somewhat unexpectedly, and to my surprise, there was already a save file on the game card! I was originally just going to loot it for items and Bells, but there honestly wasn't very much of either, so I was pretty skeptical and planned to delete the town right away.

I held off, however, and began to explore the town. At first I was distracted by the weird placement of PWPs and the awkward clustering of villager houses all in one area near the Mayor's house, but the two villagers I really like are plotted in good spots, the layout is fantastic and the cafe, campsite, Mayor house, ReTail and Town Hall are all placed really well!

I decided to give the town a chance, and after a few days of thinking, I came up with a town theme that I think really suits the name of the town! It may not be what the original player wanted but - eh. I don't really care about that.

Even more surprisingly - I'm starting to enjoy this town more than my main town! Maybe part of it is that I'm going with a town theme that's totally different, so I get to be creative with it in ways I'm not in my main town, or maybe it's the whimsical theme I've chosen, or maybe it's just the mysterious allure of picking up the work of another player and just running with it? It feels so romantic *swoon*.

Anyhow, it's actually made my enjoy all my towns more, and I'm starting to be more experimental and risky not just with Treedom, but actually, with all my towns. Do you think this is weird or do you think it's kind of adorable like I do?

All I know is that I'm so glad I didn't just reset!

Did you get the copy from a store or from a friend? Cos if from a store it sure is weird that you already had a town on it. 0:

I've never designed a town just for the looks. With my current town, I'm going to make it like a forrest, with matching PWPs and house and all, because that's how I like it, and it also fits my deers.
I wouldn't want to make a cute little town just because, I want to truly love it. :)

EDIT: Because I am making a forrest-looking town, I don't have to plot reset, my deers chose by themselves where they wanted to live! :D

That is weird. Did you buy it second-hand?

It always upsets me when I see really cutesy, artsy towns because that's what I tried with my town and it fell flat on its face, it's disgusting and I'm too poor to afford matching villagers or garden supplies lol. Hard life.
