I've never played a Pokemon game but I want to try one and if so which one is better, x or y?

They're about the same imo, just different legends and version exclusives. I recommend playing the older games to really appreciate grinding without the EXp share (plus I like them better) Really your choice.

Both are the same. The only difference is you can catch certain pokemon in x that y won't have. Same for y with x. Also the legendary for both are different.

X and Y are absolutely the best to start with! I'm a long-time fan of the anime, but getting into the games is a more recent development for me. I started with XY and now I love the pokemon game series as well as the anime! The reasons why XY are great to play if you've never played a pokemon game before, is because of the great character customization, good graphics and easy to understand map.

Pokemon X was my first Pokemon game and it did not get me into the series at all, however I gave it one more shot with Alpha Sapphire and I like the series now, so I would go with Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.

That's all they're good for lel
j/k but they are the easiest Pok?mon games imo; levelling your whole team is super easy with exp. share, EV training can be done quickly in "super training" or fighting hordes (which is even faster), easy gyms, easy Elite Four. I'm not trying to make it sound bad 'cause I actually like X/Y but yeah it'll probably give you the simplest experience as a beginning player. Visually it's great and you get to customize your trainer which is a huge plus. As for which version you might as well just pick out of which legendary you like better.

The problem with starting with a newer game; is if you like it you may want to play all the
Others. But they won't be as visually pleasing. So you may never get to experience the old pokemon

Honestly starting with the first (red/blue) would be easier because it has a smaller range of pokemon. Then continuing from there. Makes it easier to memorize them.
X/y ORAS makes you never wanna go back.

As someone who has been playing Pokemon for almost 20 years I recommend starting with X/Y or ORAS. WB/WB2 are also relatively new, but (in my opinion) they are the worse out of the entire series. I don't recommend any of the older games (meaning anything that came out in the 90s or early 00s) if you haven't played them before. The reason being that they might feel a little outdated if you're not playing for nostalgia's sake. Yeah, some of those older games are my favorites and I still love them but whenever I've shared them with my friends (who havent played Pokemon before) they complain about not being able to enjoy it because of the outdated graphics. They're also missing a lot of the cool features that the newer games have. Though if you love old school games then by all means go and get them (They're pretty amazing)

My only complaint with X/Y and ORAS is that they're way too easy. With the older games your Pokemon level slowly, whereas in the newer games you get an EXP Share from the start which allows your Pokemon to level extremely fast --meaning that a lot of the time you'll be way higher level than the trainers you'll be fighting. This could be fixed by turning off the EXP Share, but as a beginner this might make the game easier to understand.

shouldve gotten Y instead m8

if you can get XY/ORAS easily, then id say go for it but you can get older games as roms and play those first. gen 1 and 2 are broken so its best to start with gen 3 FR/LG and go up from there, if you hav the patience. otherwise, XY/ORAS is ok.

X and Y are very good to start with because they are easier in general compared to older games. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are also easy. It is a new trend with games. EXP share makes it even easier.

You could start with Pearl,Diamond, or Platinum then play B/W,B/W2,X/Y, and OR/AS. Gen. 4 is where things start to change. You could get used to grinding this way.

X and Y are probably the easiest Pokemon games so far due to how they pretty much decided to get rid of grinding levels altogether. Like, seriously, with the Exp share I NEVER had to grind levels in tall grass and my team was always over leveled for battles.

What version you want is personal preference. The only real difference is that there's a handful of version exclusive Pokemon on each version. It's really not that important anyway since you can get these Pokemon very easily anyway.

I got X simply because I didn't like the version exclusive Pokemon in Y. X had Houndour...That's pretty much my only reason.

I think every pokemon is good for beginners. Although X and Y is more competitive based. Still, it's all kind of the same game

I guess it could be hard for some, but I started with X, and I easily went back and played fire red next!
