Or am I just so use to my town it looks small to me?

I go to other people's towns and they're massive o.o
I'm actually scared I picked the wrong town layout...

Can someone visit my town in a dream for me?:s
Dream address in signature...

I'll pay you if you do :3

I feel that way about my town, too. I visit other towns and they seem HUGE, but mine feels so tiny and small.

Unfortunately I don't have time to check your town right now. I'm about to head to bed. Layout does matter somewhat, but what seems to matter more than that is villager house placement, your character(s) house placement, PWP placement, and landscaping.

My town felt really small in June until I re-landscaped in July or August or whenever it was. It felt bigger then, without trees in random places. My town is also starting to feel even bigger because some villagers have moved out and the new ones that came in moved into better spots.

Isn't every map programmed to be the same size? Though the different layouts could give the illusion that some are smaller than others. o:

Perhaps they seem bigger because no one allows you to run in their town. ;)
"The flowers, mind the precious flowers!!"

I visited too, it doesn't seem small to me either! I always think my town feels really small but I think we just feel that way because we spend the most amount of time in them, we get used to where everything is and the best route to get to places but for other people visiting our towns it seems bigger to them because it's all unfamiliar :3

Just visited, doesn't feel small, your town is a lot better planned than mine. .___.

Thank you:o<3

I think part of is where your town center is, and how many ponds you have. Too many ponds, not enough room! :(

I've visited so many dream towns that seemed absolutely massive to me. I've also been in towns who have allowed me to get signatures that seemed 100xs larger than mine. I think it's the fact that you're so used to running around in your town daily that when you visit others you get 'lost' and they have so many things that you're not used to seeing in your own you lose yourself in the layout of it all along with the additional scenery.

I feel the same way. I'd wander another town and think that it's so big while mine is so small. After I cleared a lot of trees, I realized how spacious my town was. I'm still working on where PWPs could go and where my paths can lead.. slowly getting there! ^^

There's nothing wrong with it, but I'm upset that EVERY SINGLE VILLAGER YOU HAVE IS OVERRATED! Especially Marshal and Skye.

Which villagers they have isn't really their problem if they really like them. You have your villagers and they have theirs.

Your town feels bigger than mine :D

Two things can make a town look small (well, apart from your own impression because of familiarization)
1) The river. If it's straight you have two big expanses of land on either side.
If it is very curvy and with U-turns (like mine) you have more little nooks and crannies that give you the feeling it's smaller when it's really just divided differently.
2) The more you build or plant (trees) the less space is left. Suddenly it feels crammed.

I think the second could effect your town a bit.

The north part of your town is very big due to the position of your river.
But you divided it in smaller nooks with lots of bushes.
Directly south of your town gate is a lot of free space theoretically.
But you put many sign posts there and put paths that lead in narrow corners that leave only little squares of grass and flower fields in between. One very big field of flowers for example could make it look more spacious.
That doesn't mean it is not good the way it is though!

I love the look of your town, the patterns you used for the ground look really beautiful!
It gives a very tidy but cozy impression :)

Does it really matter that it looks smaller when it is beautiful?

The most spacious looking towns are the empty ones. When you just started playing, before you have built any public project.
It seems very spacious then, but it is also empty and boring.
I'd rather enjoy a town filled to the brim with beautiful flowers and interesting buildings
than a town that is big but empty!!!
