Right now it's 6/23 in my town. I have 8 villagers at the moment, with no one moving in or out. Would it be safe for me to travel to 8/2, without any risk of losing my villagers? I just wanted to make sure before doing so.

when you are at 8 villagers no one will move out until your 9th villager moves in :) so in short, yes, you are safe to tt to 8/2

Going back in time any amount counts as one day forward so you'll be as safe as you'd be if you played the game tomorrow. When you TT back to the present, it'll also be safe since you have 8 villagers. Keep in mind that TTing might make your 9th villager move in more quickly though.

The only problems of TTing are villagers moving out (which isn't an issue for you) and turnips spoiling, so you're in the clear if you don't have any turnips.

I won't make a new thread for a simple question, so I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but my game is currently in November. I want to TT back to June/July but I'm worried I might lose someone. Well, I'm currently on 8 villagers so according to what I've read here I'll be safe, but there's a chance I might have someone new move in maybe? I know usually after a 9th villager moves, the day after they leave is clear of any 9th villagers moving in, but the next day you have a chance for a plot to show... so you can guess which day I'm currently in... so is it safe for me to do it, or will I just have to continue going forward until I get back to June/July of the next year?
