Is it possible to play a digital AND physical copy of ACNL on 1 DS?

As the title says, would it be possible to play a digital AND physical copy of ACNL on the same DS? Couldn't find definite answers when I google'd this. I obviously don't want to corrupt any save files / screw up my game.

im pretty sure you can! the physical one will save on to the animal crossing cartridge and the digital one will save directly on to the 3ds!

Yes. You can have as many cartridge files as you want. However, you can only one digital save per 3DS in addition to your cartridge saves.

Yes, I have 2 physical copies and one digital that I play all on the same DS.

Yep, I have 3 physical copies and a digital copy which is my cycle town.

As everyone else says, yeah, it's fine. The only thing is only one copy of the game will get Streetpass and Spotpass items so you should watch out for that.
