is it just me or villagers dont have interesting dialogue?

What about normal villagers wanting to check their parents? :ROFLMAO:

Honestly, I don't really mind the repetitive dialog. I know some real life friends who kept saying the same things to me nearly every day. The keyword is "complain."

I heard the dialogue has been improved in the recent update. Honestly I don't really mind the repetitive dialogue. I rather hear Filbert talk about snacks than my sister talk about country humans.

I miss the old animal crossing dialogue it use to be so good. Now it's just watered down and repetitive which is disappointing

The bland dialogue is pretty much the reason I barely play New horizons anymore. I play all the other animal crossing games daily and I love talking to my villagers on those games. Here I couldn’t care less.

I believe the dialogue about the moon comes from normal villagers. If you have a lot of the same personality type, then you will get the same dialogue. I kind of wish there were 10 personalities instead of 8 so that there wouldn’t have to be an repeat personalities on my island.
I do still enjoy taking to my villagers though. If I talk to them enough they may ask me a special question, give me a quest, or buy something from me. They’re more interesting the more you pester them lol. I guess just be careful how much you pester them so that you don’t make them angry!

Agreed, i love doing requests and the treasure hunt is super fun!! Its a lot better than hide and seek in new leaf cause that was way too easy, while treasure hunt can sometimes be challenging as hell if ur island decorated af lol.
Not to mention the dialogues between villagers are really well made and full of character

I feel the Smug villagers have the best dialogue. Pietro does make me laugh.

The GameCube game had the best dialogue. The text kind of got more bland with each game from there on, but maybe it's a reflection of society. People generally tend to be more easily offended now (or maybe they have more of an outlet for it now, no Twitter back then?) So much of the dialogue in the GameCube game world be considered "problematic" these days. If the villagers dislikes you they would literally call you fat, mental and ugly. In some of the earlier games Mable would make judgemental comments if boy villagers brought girls clothes, Kapp'n used to be creepy to female players etc...

I don’t constantly talk to my villagers the way I did when I was playing NL, I don’t know if it’s just me growing up but the dialogue is plain and boring, I would love it if Nintendo added some of the dialogue from NL into NH! But maybe I don’t talk to my villagers that much because they are less interactive. Back then they could visit our house and we could play hide and seek with them! I sound like an old person reminiscing their early life 😂

Agreed! Their dialogue’s repetitive and if you have 2 or more villagers of the same type they literally just say the same thing.

Yeah it's not just you, I only really talk to villagers if I want to progress the friendship, want a diy, am at their house or birthday party etc. That being said I do sometimes check in with my favourite villagers. The dialogue isn't that interesting but nor was it in New Leaf. I am one of the "mean" dialogue supporters myself.

I actually have been getting newer dialogue because of higher friendship. I got a mermaid related dialogue because I was wearing the dress from a smug that I have never seen before.

Less trading helps cause you don't get the contextual dialogue about other players.

I also have put hundreds of hours in this game so I'm not surprise if I get the same old stuff again.

I find it more short than repetitive. A lot of my villagers say no more than a sentence to me. It's annoying.

It’s not just you. I couldn’t care less about Bone’s grandma or Reneigh’s mom anymore.

Hmm mostly the first 2 sentences are the same everyday. Something about getting up early or late and the other about someone who visited once.

But I still see some new dialogue and especially when 2 of the villagers are talking to each other :D

It's not just you. Even I have a diverse personality island, as I have one of each kind, then an extra lazy and jock, and I still find the dialogue very stale. I love talking to my villagers! I try to speak with them all the time, it's a fun aspect of the game for me and I like saying "hi" to my little animal friends almost everytime I see them, but especially when I see them being cute (which is often). I'm surprised so many people ignore theirs, though when I felt the dialogue get stale in New Leaf I started ignoring mine more as well.

Of course, it is understandable for things to seem a little old when you've played for hundreds of hours, but I get bored of it daily because of how often things repeat. The dialogue is more repetitive in this game than any other imo. I really think that part of the problem is villagers don't ask you for favors nearly as much. I know it was always a common joke in older games that you were every villager's (insert derogatory word for female dog here) errand person, but I really miss that aspect. I feel like it at least gave the villagers a little bit more variety in what they'd talk about and ask for, plus it'd give you something to do.

I played the original gamecube AC a LOT and I didn't get nearly as bored with the dialogue in all the time I played that game as I did within a month of NH being out. It feels like they've gone backwards, lol. I felt it get stale in New Leaf as well, but for me that came much later and with more way hours clocked into the game than it took in NH for me to get annoyed with repeat dialogue.

I dunno. I mean, it is repetitive in here, but NL was just as repetitive (at least in intros-my smugs always called me cool as a pack of cucumbers or danced) so it might just be that I’ve played a lot more of this title. It doesn’t bother me too much but I wish I could have requests easier.

Thats the problem most people have. They say new lead had more without even trying it out to find out its just as repetitive. Nintendo can add only so much. What do u expect if u put 200+ hours into the game, youll notice the same things. Tbh I get tons of requests and that makes things a lot more fun.

It’s not just you. I feel the dialogue in NH is so dull most of the time. Sometimes they even say just one brief sentence and then when you try to talk to them again, they give me some, “so are you obsessed with me?” type dialogue. I miss the slider answers and the sassier dialogue of older games.
