Is it just me, or did they make stopping villagers from moving way easier?

I remember before the update in a previous town I spent an hour trying to get Goldie to ping me to stop her from moving, which didn't work.

With the Welcome Amiibo update in my current town, every time a villager wants to move they ping me, without fail (so long as I've been talking to them). Did they change this or am I misremembering? Thank you.

Might just be coincidence. If, for instance, the villagers live closer to your house on average, then it's more likely they'll ping you, from what I've noticed, since you're more likely to see them when leaving the house. Also, if you played more before the update, then you probably had more problematic villagers just because you would've gotten more requests to move in total.

I've still had some problems, but I feel they're mostly with the same villager, Maple, who lives furthest from my house.

i think it is just a coincidence like stated above. but ive only started playing for the welcome amiibo update so personal i dont know.

If a villager doesn't ping you when you're sure that they want to move, just save and quit then go find them when you start back up again. They will almost always ping you then. Sometimes, when a villager was being stubborn about pinging, I had to save and quit twice before they pinged me.

This, basically. Alternatively, just go swimming for like 5 minutes and they'll likely ping you. Just try to avoid other villagers.
