Is it common that one villager leaves while I only have nine?

Hello,

I have 10 plots on my island and one has been empty for two days. It´s still not sold (which I am ok with... maybe I can hunt/trade some dreamies later).

Today another villager asked me to move out. I was ok with that.

I now have one empty and unsold housing-space and a villager that will move the day after tomorrow. Did this ever happen to anyone else too? I never had it happen before and was really surprised...

I've had a villager move out and the plot stay open for 6-7 days. I eventually found a villager to invite on a mystery island.

I've never had another villager ask to move out while also having an open plot, though.

Odd. I thought the plot would be automatically sold after one day

I've had several villagers move out and the plot not sell the next day. Sometimes it sold after two days, three days, and the most it stayed open was 6-7 days. I eventually invited someone after the 6-7th day. So it didn't just sell to a random move in.

oh, ok... i guess i just thought that because one time i had an open plot for about 1-2 days and Spike randomly moved in. Not a bad villager tho xd

I was quite surprised about the 6-7 days as well. I kept looking for specific villagers so I was happy I had those extra days to search.

That sounds more like a bug than anything else unless you can't have a random move-in with an empty void?

Both villagers have now moved out and both plots are taken again.

I don´t know if it was a bug. But given that others are surprised too, it certainly was a bit odd...
