Is it boring being rich in ACNL?

Ya , I was , but I spend all my money on stupid things then I sell them and want the things back , so it's just a constant cycle of wasting bells for me.
Other times I just feel like being super duper nice and give my bells and things away. So Ya Good Samaritan's will always prevail.

Speaking as someone who has less than ten PWPs, has only one more home loan to pay off and is working on the catalogue badge completely solo, this seems a very strange topic to me. It is actually possible to reach a point in which you have nothing to spend bells on? I don't believe it!

I got bored once so I decided that I'm gonna give my town a theme, but first I took a hiatus for a few months. It worked pretty well, I got back into the game with the most enthusiasm I've had since I first got it and now I'm just taking my time to fill out the little goals here and there; complete encyclopedias, breed all the hybrids, acquire the last pieces of some furniture sets for my alt character's house, and acquire the rest of the villagers I need for my theme.

It certainly takes a big aspect away from the game (unless it's not a big aspect to you personally), that's why you really can't cheat in games like these - you'd only be cheating yourself. I'm thinking about duplication exploits there, I don't know how else someone could accumulate that much money!

I had 5 million bells when I sold Flurry, guess you could call that rich. I spent it all on house upgrading for all my characters which the money didn't even cover it all. Then I stopped playing for awhile.

Yeah, it kinda ruins the experience. But that's just me.

I'm not really bored of New Leaf but I do get bored at times. Having all the badges gold, completing the entire museum & catalog at 100% along with all the Public Work Projects requested to me makes me feel like I'm complete with the game but nope, I'm wrong. I want my bank account (ABD) maxed out with 999,999,999. Will probably take years but hell I'm willing to play until I reach that amount.

Yes, it gets very boring very fast once you accomplish 90% of what you want to accomplish, There's very little to do, but the rewards you get for completing said tasks...nah. Just not worth it imo.

I became rich after I finished paying for all the expensive stuff, like paying off my house, and paying for PWPs. There is really no point to me having money now. I just use the money to buy expensive sets to finish off my catalog, or foreign DLC, etc. I can imagine it would be a little boring being rich early on in the game.

Yes and no.
Yes, because you don't have to work so hard anymore for upgrades, PWPs, etc.
Paying things off is a big charm in the game, and when it's suddenly so easy, kinda takes away the feeling of accomplishment.
No, because I guess I can put my energy into doing other things like finishing my museum, getting dreamies, and so forth.

Personally, no! I haven't gotten my tycoon bell saver yet but I'm close ^^; and I think it's pretty nice! I don't have to worry so much about where I put PWPs BC I can tear them down easily if something changes, I can make a bunch of accounts and pay off all their houses to have maximum storage, and I love going on club tortimer and giving little kids a million bells ^^; I find it pretty nice to be, sorta almost like giving back to the community, I guess!!

I find it odd that you have a second copy of the game for beetle farming just because there is a 100% easier way to making a ton of money with a second copy (assuming you also own a second DS). Basically take your town that you don't care about and TT to a day where turnips are selling for very high (unless it's the random price week, this will usually be Wed-Thursday I think, you can google it for more information) but basically there is eventually going to be a week where prices are between 300-500 bells. Once you learn the pattern you can TT into a new week directly and then it's quicker. But when you land on a really high price, keep your game there until you buy turnips in your real town. The price doesn't matter because the turnover rate is going to be huge, but just fill up your entire bank and even your town's land with turnips and go to your other town to sell it all.

This is how my friend and I became rich in the game.

Now to answer your question, being rich makes the game a lot more fun because it takes away the repetitiveness of having to catch bugs or fish. Sadly I don't think I would have been able to play the game as long as I have and enjoy it if I had to grind for bells every time I needed them.

Especially when you unlock Gracie's store and you want to catalog all of her furniture! It would take hours in some cases just to buy one or two items if I had to travel to the island to make bells!

Sometimes. I haven't gotten to the 'insanely rich point' in ACNL yet, but for WW and GC yes. It was a tad bit boring after a while. But I feel like with ACNL they give you more opportunities to buy things that are more expensive (PWPs, etc.) so you don't accumulate as much money quickly.

Not for me, I'm able to buy anything/upgrade/PWP payment without worrying about losing all my money

tbh yes. I think that being poor and working to pay off you mortgage is one of the funnest parts of the game. It got a little boring for me when I sold all my tbt awhile back for 5 million bells. It kind of makes it easier to buy things online though. :)

Yeah, kinda.
I got 100 mil stashed away in my first town, but I mostly have everything completed.
It's kinda like hacking Family Guy: Quest For Stuff (used to play it), and I got hella tons of Clams and Coins so I could buy all of the buildings that needed Clams (the currency that is bought with real money) and stocked up. And I completed tasks and unlocked characters quickly so I found myself to get bored with it.
So it's almost a similar situation with my first town. But I'm thinking of transferring 3/4 of my Bells to my second town since I'll definitely be needing it

Nope! At least, not for me. I love being able to buy anything and everything without having to worry of losing all of my bells. ;)
