I was watching a video and it mentioned Gracie is male. Then I googled it and found a the Janpaneeas website for City Folk, and it shows Gracie as a guy..

Gracie (and Sahara) are guys in the Japanese version, but girls in the US version.

It's just weird how I always thought as Gracie as a female. I guess I over reacted.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her being a guy in japan. Most likely the reason they didn't make her a guy in the other versions was because of how most people treat transgendered people these days. I don't see how it's a 'lie' either.

The fesitvale peacock is a male! :D

I think it is interesting that they chose to change certain characters' genders for release outside of Japan.

i think the only reason of why he's not a girl it's because female peacocks are not colourful

and, being fair, grace and saharah are only girls nowadays because they changed their genders in all other games. if they were to be introduced in games today, nintendo would probably let them be males?
that's what i think, at least

I just read that Sahara's name in the Japanese version is Roland and Gracie is called Grace. While I'm sad the West decided to to change the gender of these male characters as if there was something wrong with them simply because they looked effeminate, I suppose I'm not surprised.

Why... are you bumping a thread from five years ago...?

Because I just happened to recently read an article about this subject and found it interesting. Why in the world would you feel the need to call me out for it? Have you literally nothing else to do? Welcome to my Ignore List.
